Gentlemen, here's a great SEO tip (for banned sites)

If your site/domain is manually banned in Google (searching for your url returns no results and Google won't just reinstate it) here's how to fix it:

Set up a robots.txt file and disallow all crawling bots:

Code:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

Now leave your site be for 5-6 months.

After such a long period Google with just remove your URL from their banned database because their crawler has been reporting the site as non-existant.

I've just got one of my domains unbanned this way. Theoretically, it should work on penalized sites too.

:thumbsup

Assuming this isn't just a troll people need to be aware that this "tip" will also cause you to drop out of every other search engine index

Every other? There is only 2 engines worth worrying about: Google and Yahoo.

And if your domain is banned, you don't have any pages listed anyway.

Besides, you can do this just for Google by specifying only their crawl bot in the robots.xtx

You can do it just for google in the .htaccess as well (at least for the official bots), since google doesn't care for the robots.txt as much as they should...the spider is way to curious, they may not list the stuff, but they still crawl it.

It's not a bad tip, although from my impression any domain comes back sooner or later. Some take months, some take years, just sit, wait, do nothing...the zombies will raise!

I had a very good domain name sitting in the ban bin for 2 years, and Gogole never bothered to reply to my reinclusion requests. I couldn't just throw it away because the name is very good. So I did some research, used the method posted above, and 6 months later im back in the index.

:thumbsup
