I Invented Pligg.

In some ways, I would say that Pligg is passing its time. The idea / concept is solid and compliant with a 2.0 mentality, however, the installs are all over the place.
For it to work effectively, you need to establish a community. I think in order to have a chance at that, you need to choose a very specific niche. For example, "dj news." If you get too general, you can't possibly compete. I don't see it working very well in adult. |

if you use it wisely, and mainly internally, it is CRAZY powerful...but don't plan on starting any new social sites, as there is a new one popping up trying to become the next digg every second the one feature about phpdug and pligg that I use extensively....ADD RSS! you can start a new blog and add the rss feed into that pligg or phpdug install in one second and have one way internal links in a heartbeat :) |
