for video, the cheap shit will start falling apart after like 2-5 uses and you'll kick yourself. Also, don't get hot lights. Don't save, get Kino's

Check out this post from today. The first photo show's what looks like a basic fixture clamped on adjustable stand with umbrella. Not sure what watt bulb he was using.
That would be less than a softbox anyway.

JTL makes a cheaper hot lights,that work well and a set of 3 will run you about $600 .It includes a case and its 1500 watts all together.
