Anybody watch Reaper?

I just finished watching all the episodes that I think have been aired (10?). I have to say that I am really enjoying it. The show is silly but it knows that and keeps a good sense about it.

Just finished watching reaper too as there's fuck all on UK tv at the moment (bring on lost) , its not too bad quite well written although the plots are a bit weak and a little samey every week but it makes me laugh and is better than most things on tv !

By the way Sarah if your looking for something good to watch try the only decent program on itv1 Harry Hills TV burp.

Sarah_Jayne 01-28-2008 09:29 AM

I hate to say it but I have just never found Harry Hill funny.

the alchemist 01-28-2008 09:34 AM

I love that show, good cast and entertaining story.

I watch reaper. I've enjoyed it. I let the dvr get it and watch it generally when nothing else is on. Not a show like Lost that I will go out of my way to watch, but when the mood strikes I like having a couple to watch at a time.

Heroes :thumbsup

I wanted to like it but I found it just too damn stupid.

I started watching Chuck instead. It's a much better show.

I gave up on Chuck..I liked the bits in the store but found the spy thing too tedious.

Well, I have lived here since 1996 and I 'get' it just fine. It is just that I have never gotten along very well with that kind of overly hyper comedian thing. I also don't really like Lee Evans is that funny for a similar reason but other people love him.

Damian_Maxcash 01-28-2008 12:00 PM

I will out for it when I arrive.

Have to admit I cant cant stand Harry Hill either.....

I can catch up on Corrie and Eastenders as well :)

Chuck is altogether fantastic, but I enjoyed Reaper as well.

heh I like the fact they can make a fun show on such a low budget, and the low budget actually adds to its charm.

I don't think it'd be quite as fun if he had 'real' tools to bring in the souls, rather than the whacked out things he gets. Good show for some laughs for sure! :thumbsup

Yeah, exactly..it knows it is silly. It reminds me a bit of the same sort of feeling that Dead Like Me had and I liked that show too. It actually has at least one cast member in common too.

Kevin Smith directed the first episode and I think I can see why he would like it. It has a slight comic book feel to it.

candyflip 01-28-2008 12:52 PM

I watched the first few episodes. I read somewhere that Kevin Smith had something to do with it. Maybe the producing the pilot perhaps?

Directed the pilot and it listed as a 'consultant' on the credits after that..whatever that means. One of the characters in particular has a very 'Kevin Smith' way of speaking.

I liked Dead Like Me a lot more. I had a crush on George.

Anthony 01-28-2008 01:27 PM

Follow Reapers, as it's light campy comedy.

One series I've really gotten into is Torchwood. Granted, there is alot of rampant homosexuality in it, but it doesn't take away from the storyline.

CynthiaB 01-28-2008 01:35 PM

Really funny and very much like Chuck in a Supernatural way. I love Ray Wise as the devil. He's perfect.

I am making my BF watch Dead Like Me because he has liked Reaper. I thought that it deserved to run longer than it did.
