Leg pain

I'm going to the Dr this week, but I wanted to know if anyone has an idea what this may be. I got a pain in the back of my leg, behind my knee. It hurts most when I stand on one leg. Thoughts?

Spunky 01-27-2008 11:05 PM

You're going to die..sorry to break it to you

Fap 01-27-2008 11:06 PM

Does it hurt when you stand or just an extended period of time?

Spunky 01-27-2008 11:08 PM

Curious,how much do you weigh?

96ukssob 01-27-2008 11:08 PM

im not a doctor in anyway, but it might be a pinched nerve or clogged blood vessel. hope it gets better

Scroto 01-27-2008 11:10 PM

Here is a friendly bump for ya!

In the mean time, :1orglaugh

kidding aside, do you sit for extended periods with little leg exercise?

Sometimes when I get busy for like a week or so and doing the 16 hr days sitting in front of the pc..my legs get similar cramping pains for a few days

Tickler 01-27-2008 11:21 PM

I pinched the siatic(sciatic) nerve around my hip, and have quite a lot of pain all the way from my hip down to my foot.

The best thing I have found so far is to lie flat with my legs raised on pillows (almost in a sitting position, except laying down). I then slip a cushion under my lower back which suspends my butt a bit, and try to hold for 5-10 min. It hurts the back while doing it, but that quickly disappears, and the leg pain goes away for 1-3 hours.

Some more discusion about it.

The only thing I would really sweat is a blood clot. Does it hurt worse if you exercise? Your doctor should probably set you up for an ultrasound right away. If it is a clot and that clot moves, you could be in deep shit.

LiveDose 01-27-2008 11:35 PM

Could be many things. The good thing is you are taking care of it and not pushing it off...

I'm 6'0", 200lbs.

AdPatron 01-27-2008 11:51 PM

It started hurting after I went bowling.

Steve Awesome 01-27-2008 11:53 PM

Too many moving parts in there to make a guess, plus no idea what your lifestyle is like. Too much running or repeated hard impacts on a knee can compound normal wear and tear.

Oh shit. Probably not a clot then. You'll be fine. When bowler's arm pain kicks in, you will forget your leg.

Too much pressure on that particular muscle might have caused the pain, try putting eficascent oil/liniment and put your leg over a pillow while lying on the bed :thumbsup

bobby666 01-28-2008 04:59 AM

lack of magnesium, eat more bananas

Czech 01-28-2008 05:00 AM

Sarah_Jayne 01-28-2008 06:18 AM

I think that none of us are doctors and that guessing will just stress you out.

Lee 01-28-2008 07:28 AM

It could be a strained hamstring, common sporting injury (even possible with bowling I guess).

L-Pink 01-28-2008 07:30 AM

Blood clot forming.

sniperwolf 01-28-2008 10:01 AM

usually cramps happened when your leg was overused in a certain period of time... it must be a simple tired muscles and just needs to rest.
