thinking about getting a game system, need recomendations
im thinking about playstation, because it comes with blue ray, but have not had anything in many many years.
whats hot out there are what are some good games? ill tell you what ive played in the past and liked spyhunter battlefield 1942 rainbow 6 unreal quake 3 thanks in advance |
ps3
call of duty 4 |
if you are a die hard gamer and total geek and HAVE to have the best graphics, sounds, etc...then get an xbox 360
if you want total fun all around with tons of games that not only are cool as shit but keep you active, get a wii we made the choice to get a wii about 4 months ago and have not regretted it one bit |
xbox or wii, though ps3 is good too, iunno.. I find xbox and PS3 to be relatively the same other then the xbox has more games for it so far.
|
xbox360 cod4
|
ok, im running out to get a 360 and call of duty 4, thanks for the advice
|
i like the xbos 360 sooo much more.
BUT if you want the blue ray i understand too |
Stay away from the Wii, considering the titles you listed. Wii is mostly crap kids games and discs loaded with shitty mini-games for folks who don't normally play video games.
Both the PS3 and XBox360 have a large number of great titles coming out, most (like 90%) of which will show up on both systems. Final Fantasy and Metal Gear staying PS3 only, so if you're a big fan of either of those...PS3 is likely the only option for the time being. Bluray built in makes up for it. |
PS3 has a bunch of FPS games:
Unreal Tournament 3 Call of Duty 4 The Darkness Resistance:Fall of Man (must of for any PS3 owner). |

I have not yet met one person that bought a wii that didn't like it, except you |
360, there's a wider range of games to choose from & it's an all-around great system.

I just ordered a Wii - now you all have me worried :( But I really just got it for bowling, tennis and Dance Dance Revolution - I should be OK - right?
|
No More Heroes FTW ... only on Wii :winkwink:

we got it in october and have probably put in 1000+ hours of tiger woods golf, dance dance revolution and bowling since we got it whatever you do, don't buy any of the other nintendo made multi game discs, they all SUCK...horribly made and the controllers are iffy at best when tracking i hear mario galaxy is awesome, have yet to play it yet though |
btw, peaches, the tennis on the wii sports disc is rather boring, it gets old pretty quick, but they have a few other tennis options out now for wii
|
Thanks, Jace - I'm looking forward to playing :) My son always had every video system there was. I miss being able to play on the TV and the Wii looked like a way I could play and maybe even *gasp* get some physical action involved, lol.
|
PC :thumbsup
|
xbox 360
cod4 bioshock orange box |
With a PS3 you can also watch Bluray movies :)

im pretty bored wiht PS3. just bought the new Burn Out game and it sucks. Im still a fan of Xbox 360
|
i got my 360 halo 3 edition on hand
never had a game console before this, maybe sega as a kid.. i enjoy this system verry much and with xbox live. go go go |
I just bought a PS3 yesterday. I'm creamin over this thing. I got it mainly for the Blu ray, but the games are nice too.
the only thing that bothers me is that it runs on Bluetooth, so I can't program it into my Logitech Harmony IR remote, but that's ok, the PS3 system is just top notch and I love it. |

I bought a wii and I hate the little bastard. The games are terrible. The control scheme is terrible. I keep meaning to ebay it but haven't ever actually gotten around to it yet. |

I went with an Xbox360 and love it. Then a buddy got the wii for his kids and that is alot of fun. It gets you off the couch and moving. I heard alot of people are now having wii parties.
|
If you want COD4 get it on PC its alot better. But if you're gonna get a console definately xbox360.
|
I'm particular to my Wii. All depends on what you're into really. I'm getting a ps3 soon but I really wouldn't have much fun with gaming without the Wii. The Wii is so dynamic with new gaming concepts and is just simply a lot of fun...regardless of what game or type of game you're playing. :2 cents:

It's sad - since all our mailboxes are at the front gate and the USPS is the ONLY service that won't allow the front gate worker to sign for resident's packages, I have the DDR but no Wii!! Very sad :( |

the wii has changed gaming forever for me thinking of myself getting a pc game and using the keyboard to move characters around the screen just makes me LOL |
My brother has always been "anti video games". So much so that even if a video game was on his wishlist, he wouldn't buy one for my son (though he did buy him things like 2 week trips to Alaska, the Grand Canyon, Boston, etc. so I really can't complain ;) ). I think I can get him interested in playing the Wii - especially the tennis and bowling. I'm the only person he will play REAL tennis with because we are about the same level (I'm actually better......) and we play with no rules :)

The absolute best machine is the Xbox 360 (elite version). It's faster and has nicer graphics graphics than the ps3 when you compared game for game. Plus the online support for xbox360 is fantastic. You can play against others of course, but you can also download new games, and now even complete TV shows and movies in HD.
The best games to get for it are Halo 3, Bioshock, Ace Commander 6, and Call of Duty 4. Burnout, a driving game, is also fun as hell. Happy Gaming! m |

It's a dumbed down game system DESIGNED specifically to target the casual gamer. The library of titles is pathetic, aside from a few first party Nintendo titles that have managed to be released, the rest is total garbage. Come on, you can't tell me you want to play games like AMF Bowling, or Carnival Games, or better yet Chicken Shoot...which happens to be a port from a fucking FLASH game. I think the Wii and it's marketing is brilliant. But when someone says they like playing Battlefield 2012 and the first response is "Hey man, I have a wii...you should get one"...someone has to step in and set things straight. :1orglaugh |

The Wii is awesome. Mine is actually loaned out as I am out of town and a friend asked to take it home for the week. The Xbox 360 is not going to get that type of response.
Peaches get a bunch of friends over, booze and the Wii. It rocks! True gamers will whine but they are not the type to leave the house and go to a party so the risk is limited. :winkwink: And don't even ask about strip bowling..... |
OMG, I AM who the Wii was invented for :) I picked it up today and have been having a total blast - even though I suck at all the games. It was a breeze to hook up though I'm going to have to Museum Putty the sensor thing to the top of my TV. And I will need to get an additional remote.
I feel like a kid again :) |
hey, i wanted to chime in and thank everybody for their good advice
|
fuck, got turok and cant change the default controls/settings :(((((
|
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 comes out soon.
