Depends on what you are looking for. Chinese New Year is coming up so there are quiet a few festivities that are going to take place in the coming weeks. They have the fireworks which is usually a very popular event.

Bar scene wise I would suggest Lan Kwai Fong in Central, and the Wan Chai area...

Again it all depends on what exactly you are looking to do

i will be visiting friends down there and am just looking for input

I stay in Hong Kong about half of the year. It's not my favorite city in Asia (the Chinese can be some rude fuckers) but there is some cool stuff. Mongkok night market is fun. If you want to get approached by a lot of Indian guys that say 'Hey Mr., want to buy a watch?' then check out touristy Tsim Tsa Tsui. The Big Buddha out on Lantau Island is a fun day trip...you can take the sky tram which will make it even better. Causeway Bay is great for eating/shopping. As mentioned before, most nightlife is centered around Lan Kwai Fong and Hollywood Road.

I will be back in HK for Chinese New Years next week, not sure I'll have much time with all the festivities but if you email me ([email protected]) maybe we can meet up. Have fun and hope that helped!

Just go down to Lan Kawi Fong. If you're a white guy, you'll have no problem getting laid.

take the ferry to kowloon sp? for shopping. you can buy nice china and they will ship it to your house so you don't have to carry it around. That freaking mall is LOOOOOOONG

I was there 3 times in the early 90's when it was still 1/2 chinese and 1/2 british
