Plenty of museums, shouldnt be hard to find.
Coffeeshops as well. A really good shop which has several bars in the city is called the Rokery. Go to the one next to the Leidseplein. Also tourists seem to enjoy la Canna near central station.
Avoid the tourist restaurants. They are horrible. Bad food and high prices. If the signs outside are anything other than a menu don't go inside. The more red signs with tourist special of the day crap the shittier they are.
2 real nice restaurants are "Red" and "Kelderhof" if you are with a girl. With some friends go to "Stoop & Stoop" also near Leidseplein (Leidsesquare). You can find the address with Google.
Nice bars in the red light area but they close at 1 (or 3 in the weekend). Many dopedealers in that area but just ignore them and don't ever buy anything from them. They are fucking annoying but if you simply ignore them they won't bother you any further.
Clubs i dont know much about so i can't help you there.
Want some real underground stuff go to "Korsakoff". Crazy people, crazy music.
Want a cool evening with normal people and nice chicks go to "Paradiso" on thursday or wednesday evening (noodlanding). Relaxed atmosphere. Dj who plays dance/pop/rock.
Want some darkroom fun if you are a fag go to the "cockring".

The Van Gogh Museum had no Van Gogh's, strangely enough. At least when I was there.

Amsterdam rocks. Period. THe whole city is killer awesome. There's an endless amounts of shit to do, nightlife there is king. The people are nice, relaxed and helpful. Have fun!!

Rijksmuseum is very nice. Lots of Rembrandts. Not sure if the Nightwatch is currently up for display as there's some constructionwork going on.

is a little outside the center and is called Arena. It also has a hotel with it
which is a really cool hotel and very reasonably priced.

Great place to visit for "good art"

Vondelpark was pretty nice in autumn, good place to walk around, relax and take a rest from the big city. Especially when you're stoned.

when i am in amsterdam i always visit the cafe extase, vis a vis the hardrockcafe (in the redlight-districk), after smoking i cross over to hardrockcafe for good music
