CT I was raised by an Aboriginal Elder, (I have heard and seen 1st hand the oppression and persecution that no longer exists in many ways) and when Auntie Ida died the greatest number of people ever to take to the streets in Tasmania walked over the Tasman Bridge to pay tribute to her.

At least 5 thousand or more were white and we all walked as one! I am proud that every indigenous person I know calls me brother. It's easy to focus on all the negatives, yet there are many positives and that is what has helped us build a bridge and move forward. :)

I have lived in many towns from Hobart to Darwin and seen things that would make many of us sad, and I have also seen positive change .... I don't take any drugs and either do-the non stereotypical indigenous brothers or sisters I refer to!

I hope you and your family have a ripper of an Australia Day!! :thumbsup

Jebus !

Well let's hope it keeps moving forward, because from my personal first-hand experiences from Thursday Island to Woorabinda to Cunnamulla to Victoria River Downs, life for the aboriginal in those places could hardly be considered better than before the white man arrived here.
