Because she's done a stellar job with her own kids

Jamie Lynn Spears will give her baby to her mother in order to concentrate on her career, according to reports. The 16-year-old stunned the world last month when she revealed she was pregnant with her first child - and now the Zoey 101 star has allegedly agreed to let her mother Lynne bring up the child in a bid to retain her career and grow up like a normal teenager.

Jamie Lynn Spears has agreed to give up her unborn baby, it has been claimed. The 16-year-old star of Nickelodeon show 'Zoey 101' will reportedly give the child to her mother Lynne as soon as it is born, so she can focus on her career.

A source told America's Star magazine: "After several weeks of personal soul searching and talks and discussions with her mom, Jamie Lynn reluctantly agreed that giving up the baby is the right thing to do."
no, abortion wouldve been the right thing to do.

"Lynne says Jamie doesn't understand the lifelong consequences of having a baby. She wants Jamie Lynn to continue her show business career after the baby is born and Jamie Lynn also realizes she wants to enjoy her teenage years without the responsibilities of caring for a baby."

"Jamie Lynn will be back at work and trying to remind people of her talent and not that she is an unwed teenage mother."
LOL

how christian.

Don't need much more proof than that.. Trailer trash runs in the family blood lines.

MetaMan 01-24-2008 01:49 PM

ouchhhhhhh no easy answers, some people would be surprised but an abortion is not an easy choice either.

i give props to anyone who even gives a child up for adoption i dated a girl once who gave up a kid for adoption and the kid found a great family etc.

How easy is it for a single mom to raise two "Talented" girls who want a career in show business? I have no idea. But what you see them going through, girls all around the world are going through each and every day...just not under the media spotlight.

That's not to say she was a perfect parent, but you can't always judge how good a parent is/was based solely on the actions of the children.

supplemental income

So you'd be cool with your 15yr old daughter living full time with her 19yr old boyfriend then?

Fletch XXX 01-24-2008 02:06 PM

Lynn Spears is a great mom, she put the "cool" in underage girls getting boob jobs

Doubtful, but without knowing all the circumstances I couldn't say.

If I ran the risk of losing all communication with my rebellious daughter who's run away countless times already (which isn't the case here obviously) or her living with a 19 year old guy that I met and liked, so I could keep SOMEWHAT of a close eye on her? Who's to say.

Things come up when you're parenting that you don't expect and you might not always make the right decision even though it seems the best idea at the time. Hopefully I won't have to deal with that with my kids, but I'm sure I'll have other issues. The wife and I will deal with them as best as we can, in the best interest of our children, and thankfully OUT of the spotlight of the media and a judgemental public.

Wasn't it revealed that they had actually split with him being a fall guy, and the actual father was speculated to be a (significantly older than 19) network exec?

As the daughter of an adopted man, I agree. However, it would have been good if the mother had educated either of her daughters about condoms.

Dude in California its possible for a child to DIVORCE his/her parents if the child has the financial income to do so.

The third and last way to become emancipated is to get a declaration from a judge. In order to get a declaration, you must prove the following: (1) you are at least 14 years old (2) you don't want to live with your parents and your parents don't have an objection (3) you must show fiscal responsibility (4) you can financially and legally support yourself (5) you must show that emancipation would be beneficial for you.
The part about your parents dont have an objection is iffy one, if your parents do you can take them to court. Which these child stars of plenty of money to blow on 1000 hr lawyers.

it has happened in the past with child actors.

So if the only way to keep your daughter (if she is a child actor) in your life is VERY VERY hard unless you do what she wants .

I heard the rumour but I didn't ever see it confirmed. Either way its poor parenting. The excuse of "well she would have done it anyway" or "we had no choice she would have emancipated herself" is a weak excuse at best.

It reminds me of The Simpsons episode when Ned Flanders goes to the nuthouse because he can't seem to get angry and they have the flashback to his parents and the father basically says "we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas".

BlackCrayon 01-25-2008 10:44 AM

What a loser. Take responsiblity.
