Anyone know of a batch video splitter?

Looking for a batch video splitter that will cut up a .wmv file into 20s/30s clips from a preset timerange.

Example:
20min wmv source
Set range to start 2 mins into the video, ending 5 minutes before the end
Export 20sec clip every 3 minutes of ranged video

The software should be able to load all .wmv files from the source directory and subdirectories.

Is there such a Godly tool?

Boilsoft Splitter can auto-split x # of sections per file or split individually selectable sections. In you sample scenario, you might just have it auto-split the main file x # of times equal to about every 20-sec and simply select every ninth one in windows explorer to get the sections you want. I agree that it would be nice to have batch ability though.

Yep, no re-encoding involved. Even though there's no batch functionality Voodoo, you'd probably save a lot of time AND quality w/ this versus something that's going to need to re-encode.

VideoCharge still gets my vote.

Yes the best thing for that is Boilsoft or Videocharge, but you have to buy the extra Pc to go along with the software, which can be a hassle... :winkwink:

I've had problems with Videocharge just splitting WMV files.. for some reason the audio sync sometimes gets screwed up... So I end up rencoding just to be sure...

But.. with videocharge, you can do command line stuff... So I've got some old style dos batch files where I just set up a list of videos to split and extract vidcaps from and away it goes..

Video Vegas does that really well. Click on Tools>Scripting>Batch Render
