recommend a good domain registrar

got 407 domains i need to transfer away from godaddy

looking for a registra that supports cascading billing of credit cards because my only us currency credit card is epassporte and we all know how it give false failures.

If that happens i want my normal canadian credit card charged instead of me having to pay the 80 redemption fee.

namecheap works good.

SayWhut 01-24-2008 10:09 AM

1 Word - Moniker.

I got a discount with my domains too!

What's wrong with Godaddy? That's where I keep my domains. Is there something I should know?

not really a problem with godaddy their billing system is a little clunky they allow you to put multiple credit cards in place but they don't cascade them

so if your primary fails (like the epassporte has a habit of doing even though you have enough money in the account)

your domains drop. I don't want to have to keep checking domains to see if they go thru. The account rep said they might be adding that functionality and it seems like it is not going to happen any time soon.

Just tired of being charged 80 bucks because their system is to outdated to support cascading billing.

if they charged in canadian dollars then i would just switch the primary to a stable credit card. but they don't

so i am looking for a site that either
1. charges in canadian currency
2. has cascading billing (so epassporte failures don't cost me 80 bucks)

justsexxx, your sig is sick :thumbsup

gideongallery, there's plenty of Canadian registrars that charge in CDN. I have all of my .ca domain registered with 10dollar.ca but they are a little more expensive when it comes to .com

You can always browse through CIRA certified registrars and find the one that has good prices and does .com too. The link is http://ro.cira.ca/re_choose_en

Talk to Bari at Moniker. She takes great care of her clients:thumbsup

DaddyHalbucks 01-24-2008 12:45 PM

Moniker is the only registrar I recommend, and I have tried all the big ones and many of the smaller ones too.

:thumbsup

You could always set up cascading billing by using the free automated "overdraft protection" offered by most banks. No fee for doing that and you can use any registrar you want. I'm using Wells Fargo and Bank of America cards configured that way with GoDaddy currently and I sleep very well.

Moniker.com :thumbsup

unfortuately i am canadian
so it is not as easy to setup a us account as it is for americans
having setup payment gateways in the past i know how easy it is to rotate thru multiple credit cards for auto billing so i am suprised a big company like godaddy can't implement that solution.

Well if all else fails i could go back to getting checks from sponsors and eating the conversion float on my canadian credit card.
