Hockey Night at Staples Center (Lots of pics)

Joe of AMAcontent and AMAbucks.com once again sponsored a fun night of hockey and networking at the Staples Center as we watched our Kings get spanked by some team that came from a real cold place. I guess it is difficult to concentrate on ice skating with all the hot chicks and surf in LA. Oh well, we all had a blast.

Thank you Joe. Everyone came away appreciating the networking opportunity.

I even got Redshoe to come out of his shell. I believe I have the very first pictures of him to be posted on the Internet. I feel honored. :1orglaugh

Enjoy the pics.

I'm wearing the brown leather jacket...

...but I think my fiancee might be distraught (as well as utterly confused) to hear that I'm gay.

So let's just keep that between you and me, eh? :-P

Again - had a blast... and was great seeing everyone there.

Great pics baddog... I saw my Leafs get clobbered by the Kings at the Staples Center the week before Internext.

Nice facilty, but it's obviously made for hoops.

Looking forward to Thursdays game.

And watching Joe command the ice!

I will try to contact those I need to contact by tonight. I have a business associate over right now and we are currently knee deep in a project.

Meeper 01-23-2008 01:06 PM

I'm curious about that. Is it the same kind of setup?

Hey Odie,

We live in So Cal.. We are used to wearing shorts everywhere we go.. Where you from Toronto?

Oh I see, you are still pissed at the fact that the Kings took the Toronto Maple Leafs out that year in the semi's.. I understand...

There are no bad seats at Staples Center. And as far as staying home is concerned, it is a little difficult to network with others from there, and that is what it is all about.

bah...no I'm not upset..the leafs suck..I love em but hate em at the same time...but seriously, seats like that at the arena here suck..not really worth the $$$...but as far as networking goes, it's a great night out!

I'm right smack across the street from the ACC on the waterfront...it's -15 over here...that's without the windchill..brrrr!!!

Baddog is right there are no real bad seats. It's like being in a bowl. I've been to a Dodgers game where I sat in the nosebleed section and that seemed like you were miles away. At the Staples center, it's like you're above the action looking down.

And also, I've seen hockey on TV, and this was nothing like it. On TV they pretty much just follow the puck so you tend to just be trying to follow where it is. At the game it seems to flow a lot more than I would have thought. I was kind of expecting to lose the puck in the action, but I found the experience to be more enjoyable than watching from a bar. (yes, it was my first hockey game)

Oh and that the Staples center.. I dunno.. it's like the arena is just right out in front of you. It doesn't feel like you're as high up as you might think until you look across the rink and see how high up you really are.

Fap 01-23-2008 03:03 PM

hmm doesnt look like the rangers or the islanders were playing.. so why bother going?

that's awesome that it was your first game! I took my sister for her first game over the holidays...Leafs vs Rangers..we got smoked 6-1 or somethign ridiculous..we had amazing seats tho...I'd never pay to go to a game here...too much $$$...thank gawd for corporate seats! and once you've done it in the lower bowl, it's just not the same anywhere else.

KILL_FRENZY 01-23-2008 03:12 PM

Not really accurate . . . at least as far as the Staples Center is concerned.

Is great when action by your net, but when stuff happening at the opposite end, you need to watch the big screen.

Last night we could see with ease the goal that had to be reviewed by officials.

What he said...

I actually prefer the 200 level at Staples Center...

I watched Koby score 81 points from the 300 level. It was great.
I watched him score 40 from the 200 level and it was great during the entire game.
I watched him score 18 points in the 100 level right behind him and I spent the entire time wanting to strangle him!

Price vs experience... I enjoy the 200 level the most.. and it has waitress service.

bDok 01-23-2008 04:13 PM

200 level is very nice. I like 300 level if I'm close to center on either side of the court for games.
