Bobby Fischer > Heath Ledger

Not even close.

The guy played chess. Big fucking deal. He lost his title because he was too much of pussy to defend it. he also hated america. fuck him.

Fletch XXX 01-23-2008 11:33 AM

Chess over gay cowboys on drugs!

Bobby Fisher was awesome, he beat Spassky 21 times!

SykkBoy 01-23-2008 11:33 AM

what about Suzanne Pleshette and the guy who played Sam The Butcher on The Brady Bunch? They both died the other day as well...

personally, i never heard of Heath Ldger till he died.

I never saw a single movie he did, nor did I watch the one everyone knows him for, Brokeback Mountain.

Bobby Fisher however, I am intrigued by men like him and their mind.

Heath Ledger just looked good in a cowboy hat and naked in bed with another guy.

Agree with you, Fletch.

In 100 years there will still be people playing through Bobby Fischer's games of chess. I would be surprised if anyone still watched Brokeback Mountain though.

Not sure why one has to be better than the other. Bobby Fischer was uniquely talented. Heath Ledger was simply talented. Untimely death will always get a flash of attention and particularly when there is signs of talent. I don't think his death was meant to be a competition.

Though, if you were going to intentionally kill yourself and you were an actor you might not want to do it on the day that the Oscar nominations came out..makes it look like you were expecting a nomination.

Oh puhlease - there are too many of us who couldn't play chess if our lives depended on it :thumbsup

Jimmy Dean - died young, was only in a few good movies. Still talked about today and his movies are still being watched.

Young celebrities dying unnatural deaths unfortunately always trumps those who are older and die in less spectacular means. Not that it's good, but that's how it happens.

Bobby Fischer > Sam The Butcher > Heath Ledger > Suzanne Pleshette

Brady Bunch will STILL be playing on the 22nd century version of television in 2108. Guaranteed for the 4:30 pm time slot.

Yeah, no argument but I just don't get the need for one death to be more worthy than another.

No, not their death. Ledger would win that one.

Holly 01-23-2008 01:40 PM

I liked Sam the Butcher much better as Barney on All in the Family. That show still rocks.

the story was pretty diferent man + he was probably the greatest player of chess of all the time - he would hardly loose the title with Karpov that time..:2 cents:
