Why the angry face DaddyHalbucks. Is it not permissable for a country to decide what can and can not be allowed?
Then with recent surveys and the like it seems the middleclass and upcoming youth have zero desire to rock the boat specially when it comes to politics. They appreciate their social standing and personal wealth and have no desire whatsoever to deal with the rest of the poor Chinese nor thier rights. As they see it they are doing just fine with the current laws and the like and those who stood up before them (their parents) were silly.

Nah do not be. I am just tired of people bashing on what other countries allow and do not allow when we have enough problems with our own. *United States in this instance.

Seriously which is worse.
Chinese can not legally view porn (ps black markets are more profitable)
Or.
Gay couples are second class citizens in the US and can not marry and get the same benefits of straight couples.

WebmasterMann 01-23-2008 03:15 AM

why would anyone pay for a membership when you could go to a hostess bar, plus corruption is so high in china, it's better idea to shut down the spammers, better for the rest of the internet community.

Poor Chinese people.....they have to jack off in secret........well at least they can now do it to western content

Somehow the connection between the Olympics and cleaning up online porn feels thin.

They also trying to clean up blight, the air, the water, and everything else that can make China look bad on world TV during the Olympics. Hell I am pretty sure they will even bus out anyone that even looks remotely unhappy or poor well away from any Olympic site.

I am also fairly sure they will more than likely shut down most factories during the games to prevent air polution and those that are allowed to operate will be outside of the reach of being noticed and the required energy will be piped in.

You American's need to stop the self-loathing. Are we excluded from being able to criticize policies of other nations because we have White skin? Of course not. It's a fucked up policy they have, and in a global world we have a right, just as much as any non-American who criticizes the USA has, to debate, protest, etc these things. And what's worse? Well arresting almost 900 people is surely up there. I doubt you'd find many gay people who would much prefer to live in a nation that isn't a Western one. Do you honestly feel they have anywhere near the amount of freedom or acceptance in China? Wake up to your self and stop trying so hard to be so culturally enlightened.
