What would happen if the US left Iraq tomorrow?
Ron Paul gets elected and we pull out the next day. What happens in Iraq?
|
It would be all good for a while, then I think the country would completely fall apart and they would come back to us to fix it, which we would like we have after every other conflict we were involved in.
Regardless as to what happens, the middle east will continue to be a troubled part of the world. edit: That or another crazy dictator moves in while the country is trying to rebuild and we get to do this all over again in 15 or 20 years. |
hmm i dont know but id like to see you charged with war crimes
as invading iraq was illegal...and you stole countless billions from other nations by doing so. so if you just up and leave the place in a mess..id like to see the charges actually stick you have already declared war on the waorld..time to pay for that. you can say what you want..as i wont be back in this thread....im tired of the crap everyone has to deal with because the big kid on the block thinks he can do whatever the fuck he wants |
Huge civil war.....all parties have agreed to stop fighting eachother so they
can gain strength again....the day the US leaves Iraq....they'll start fighting again for control over the country.......it's inevitable :2 cents: |
oh shut the fuck up brad, youll be back in this thread. ;)
we only stole the money from the 'other' countries because we got their first. its not like Iraq was a banking hub and we stole any real money. and iv told you before, it wasnt an invasion it was a liberation, come on man, i thought we finally agreed on that point. |

All hell would break loose but the aftermath of a few months will have them all seeking an end to the fighting. Iran and Syria would organized talks and because they actually understand the local issue (of which we have no clue) a agreement would come forth.
The real problem right now is actually the survival of Pakistan. If that government collapses the US will move in and the fighting will be bigger than ever with little chance of a clear victory. |

Chaos, 100%. Saddam kept everyone from killing each other. The US is now in his place. Unless they put someone ELSE in charge, it will be a free for all and the entire country will destroy itself. I don't think anyone could really challenge that.

I dont know why the Iraqi's voice isn't heard on my news *shrug*. Do they want us there or not? I dont even fucking know anymore. Does anyone in their "government" even speak for the people? .. who knows.

They've been hiding in the "green zone" chattering about bullshit for 4 years. If the US pulled out that government would be destroyed in 2 weeks and it would actually be a good thing. This gov can't control a single aspect of the fighting. They can't call a cease fire to any group, not even to the US side that is propping them up. |
I figured as much.. a real definitive puppet government.. it's how old school US foreign policy worked.. but times they are a changin'. It's pretty transparent to even a casual observer these days.
|
Iraq becomes the new Afghanistan. And the world that hates us for going in will hate us even more for leaving.

They will fight and then someone will win and they will run iraq. They have been fighting 100's of years to think we are going to end that is nuts. Also with Saddam, you had a monster controlling monsters now you dont. This isnt something we can fix fuck we cant fix our own shit and people think we are can fix iraq. lol
|
Before the day was through Iraq would plunge itself into civil war.
~ Captain Obvious. |
You'd get a mad rush/ power grab, including a bloodbath that would even make Saddam blush.
|
I just want the US dollar back where it was 5 years ago...
Hmmm I wonder what THAT coincides with?? |

I wouldn't neccessarily say less people would die, it might just be different people or just less people now and more later.
Basically, if we just backed out now, the country would completely implode and one of the neighboring countries would come in to take control and we would end up right back in there. In short, the answer is its all fucked either way. |
We'd save a whole lotta money.
|
gas prices will still be the same...

So he has a better chance at avoiding this shit if he's at home. Thus decreasing the homeless population and all the other fun shit that comes with it like post traumatic stress disorder. I don't know the odds but it seems like common sense to me ... |
Please leave
|
US fat bastards would be DEAD ... fuckers wouldnt have gas for theyr HUMMERS ... and loose a shit load of $$$
|
Two words for the Iraqi's current state:
Involuntary Reliance... So anyone who now tries and twist opinions among people to "it was the right thing to do, and helping them was the only intention"... eat elephant shit! Sway this opinion :321GFY |
It would continue to be a shithole and the US would save a LOT of money and blood.
|
Another despot, like Saddam, would eventually come to power. We'd save money and lives. Essentially everything would go back to the way it was prior to the invasion. We might as well have left it that way to begin with.

Total Chaos, Civil war!:2 cents:

I say let Iraq handle itself, they are no threat to the US and never where..who cares if they fight each other, WTF does that have to do with us
|
Of course Iraq was no threat. Big balled, small diked, america just wanted the oil... and look wat they did.... oil prices here went up from $1AU to fuking $1.40AU.... bastards.
They then used Saddam as an excuse saying they wanted him captured for the crimes he commited in Iraq (had nothing to do with US). Now they fuked Iraq even more than it was before and as there is no leader there will be noone to control all them little gang thingies. They will all start fighting each other with a mass civil war. Then smart Australia will build a nuke and drop it on Iraq to fix americas missdoing :D |
