Although it's still a low price I don't think this helps

Yes and no... 2007 revenues of $900k does not mean 2008 will be the same, especially with today's tube trend... The way I see it, the owners now have $500k+ in the bank and no work to do, and can feel free to work on whatever new projects (madisonavenue) they have going.

because they didn't accept monopoly money

BlackCrayon 01-22-2008 05:16 AM

Could of gotten a lot more for centerfolds.com if he'd of taken it to the internext auction in my opinion.

shuki 01-22-2008 06:52 AM

Anyone know who the buyer is?

Now, that's a serious decline, even if keeping in mind that Alexa stats aren't very accurate. 500k is nice money, but compared to what the site would have been worth some time ago...:helpme

probably didn't know about it.

Why 01-22-2008 07:37 AM

i know who the buyer is ;)

Why 01-22-2008 08:04 AM

maybe CJ traded the traffic off over the last few months for one last grab at some cash, knowing that they planned to sell the property in a few months?

NinjaSteve 01-22-2008 08:07 AM

I'd love to buy a domain for $9 and sell it for 82K. Too bad moniker won't list my hot domains :( boooo

Why 01-22-2008 08:21 AM

When it was reg'd in 1995 i believe it was a LOT more then $9 a domain.

bobby666 01-22-2008 08:58 AM

how much will it be worth in 5 years ?

nikki99 01-22-2008 10:01 AM

not too expensive :)

LiveDose 01-22-2008 10:03 AM

What an amazing domain... Congrats to the winner! :-)

Hell, I would have begged, borrowed, lied, and stole to raise the money to buy it if I knew it would sell that cheap.

What I meant was, people are making it out to be this super crazy deal of the century when I think it's more of a normal deal :winkwink:

shuki 01-22-2008 11:18 AM

Peaches 01-22-2008 11:20 AM

It was probably either $100 (the first price I paid for domains) or $70 (what they "dropped" it to). Before the $100 fee, I think they were free.

jasminexxx 01-22-2008 11:22 AM

it's a good domain and a fair price

Yeah, as I recall it was $100 to register a domain name back then.

Mind you, before 1995, I think domain names were free.

GAMEFINEST 01-22-2008 11:48 AM

some domains went cheap

Fap 01-22-2008 12:01 PM

i thought it would be worth more.. hmm

MikeFold rocks!
