Ironic issue with MLK Memorial
So the guy who was picked to sculp a massive momument to Martin Luther King Jr. as part of a large park like area is Chinese. This is causing drama because a lot of people think it should of been a black artist chosen to make the sculpture.
Any else think it's ironic that Dr. King stood for equality no matter what race you are, and now that they are trying to make a huge memorial to him, it's a big deal that the artist isn't black. Isn't this exactly what Dr. King was preaching, judge the man on his accomplishments and deeds rather than his color? :2 cents: |

Should the glory go to those who actually engaged in the fight of oppression or should people who actally never gave a shit show up to take some glory claiming equality that they never stood up for themselves?
What's even more ironic is that you spent this time searching for irony becasue it's just a fact that you hate MLK. |

Yea, so might as well keep doing it </sarcasm> |

You also make assumptions about the artist as well. You know for a fact that he didn't give a shit about human rights, or are you just stereotyping him because he's Chinese? |
Although MLK's words have been used to really create reverse-racism.....
Wouldn't true equality be hiring the best artist regardless of what country they are from or what race they are? I know, they don't really want equality, they want white people kissing their asses for things that happened decades ago. |

Sad to see so much hate on what is supposed to be a day for all to put aside differences and take a breath to try to move another step foward.
