I love CCBill but I hate their stats

Why are their stats always that unclear? It's impossible to understand when the last payment was made, how much I have earned since the last payment etc and trying to ask this through email is very difficult.

V_RocKs 01-21-2008 01:19 PM

Payments are in there.. Just need to know where to look. They even have campaign tracking... Again... just need to know where...

It is like trying to get FHG's from Nasty Dollars for the first time.

st0ned 01-21-2008 01:20 PM

I think the extra hassle is worth the additional security that CCBill provides. Only having to provide details to one company, but using those details to promote multiple sponsors is awesome in my opinion. The recent NATS issue made that much clearer. However, I have always hated their stats also. Never tried email support. Is it that bad?

fuckingfuck 01-21-2008 01:22 PM

Well according to the payments, my last payment was on the 23rd of December but I received a payment from them on the 7th of Jan.

And also when it says 23rd of Dec last payment, does that include the week starting from the 23rd or not? None of this is clear.

Do you mean as an affiliate or program owner?
I find their phone support fucking awesome :thumbsup

stickyfingerz 01-21-2008 01:28 PM

Hints of a new backend coming soon. :winkwink:

fuckingfuck 01-21-2008 01:29 PM

As an affiliate.

mike-al 01-21-2008 01:30 PM

never was fond of that java backend reporting system.. thank god for stats remove

CIVMatt 01-21-2008 01:55 PM

Yeah we love ccbill but damn the backend is painful (customer or affiliate)

candyflip 01-21-2008 01:56 PM

Isn't the stats admin interface going to be updated soon? Or was all the "coming soon" stuff just with regards to the cascading?

Violetta 01-21-2008 02:03 PM

yeah... I never really figuered everything either

not very pretty but seems to get the job done

svenski 01-21-2008 02:46 PM

I can't even login to CCBill webmaster admin from my office in Spain - even tried a friend on a different PC and ISP, so I guess CCBill are blocking a shit load of Spanish traffic (not sure how lucrative Spanish traffic is though).

Can't access webadmin, affiliate admin, support, or even click on a join link from any ccbill powered website.

Considering the fact that I have emailed them screenshots of traceroutes etc, phoned several times and even emailed cavecreek directly, I think their support isn't all that great.

campaign tracking? you mean referring urls?

quicksand 01-21-2008 02:51 PM

I'm from Spain and never had any problem login to the admin besides it beeing a little slow.
Also, I have quite a few sales from Spanish people so it seems they don't block that many Spanish traffic.

bizarrejan 01-21-2008 03:15 PM

I Love CCBill and Paul K :thumbsup

yumma 01-21-2008 03:22 PM

yeah. ccbill needs to work with usability

J.P. 01-21-2008 03:28 PM

You can set up tracking referral urls. I use it to track certain banners, blog posts, etc.

J.P. 01-21-2008 03:55 PM

Elli, that doesn't really help me much. I have multiple campaigns set for one site as I track different traffic sources.

Thanks for the info though, didn't know about the option you mentioned either :)

The software does everything you need and more, you just really have to search. Even then, I don't think you'll figure it all out. I learn something new each time I log in a poke around.

RevengeBucks_Monica 01-21-2008 04:17 PM

Speaking as an affiliate, I've always found their stats a bit confusing. And I dislike that I can't find referring URLs for the sales I've sent. (perhaps I just haven't been able to figure out how?)

Svenski, for some reason I couldn't access the affiliate login page by typing the URL in directly, but if I did a search for it on google and clicked the link, I could. I had to bookmark the page and I access it that way. Weird stuff.

rowan 01-21-2008 04:35 PM

ccbill's stats are a little odd, like by default not including accounts that have made no sales in ratios (so 0:5000 counts as as 0:0!), but I've learned to live with them.

Speed was an issue but that did improve some time ago when ccbill did a backend upgrade. Used to be that you couldn't view even 2 months worth of stats without it dying with a timeout error.

The one thing that does annoy me is the different types of click reporting, new ones occasionally appear, at the moment I have to click on 6 different types just to view all of my stats...

Raw
Raw, Second Page, Form
Raw, Unique
Raw, Unique, Form
Raw, Unique, Second Page, Form
Unique

It's the sponsor that decides how they track so I have no choice in the matter. There are different sponsors listed under each type.

Make sure "Breakdown by URL's" at the bottom of the screen is checked, then once the transaction summary is displayed you can click on "Referring URL" or "Destination URL" on the left hand side.

Were you trying to load http://affiliateadmin.ccbill.com/ ? That URL is non secure and appears to be firewalled. Make sure you load https://affiliateadmin.ccbill.com/ (note httpS)

svenski 01-22-2008 03:05 PM

rowan,

Problem is only with https, not non secure, . ccbill.com loads up fine, if I try and do anything like access webmaster or affiliate admin , or even support - they are all on secure subdomains - times out everytime.

Big deal for me as I can't check stats, test signup scripts etc.

Took the laptop to the UK the other day. Sat in the airport and lo and behold webmaster admin login page comes up. Get back to the office in Spain and it times out.

Traceroute shows traffic being rejected as soon as it hits CWIE. Tried it on another ISP here and same thing. Really wierd.
