Just picked a cheapy $70 office chair and...

I just got home and put it together and I must say, it feels way better than the $300 office chair I had. Plus, the arm rests aren't the only thing holding up the back of the chair.

I know, I'm gonna get comments about how cheap I am on my chairs but I really do have better things to spend my money on. This $70 one was supposed to be an in between chair for a bit but I actually find it quite comfy. So now I don't know.

Hehe similar threads kind of going on. I buy chairs around 200.00 and have to replace them usually once per year.

I sure hope you're married or have a g/f living with you ... it's Sat. night and you're putting together a chair .... lol

I've been there and done that with the expensive chairs. Generally no matter what the price, You'll need a new one in 8 months. :)

yeah, pretty easy. Just figure out front from back and left from right on the chair and you're good.

Although this one was one washer short.

i once remember i spent at least half an hour trying to put together a stupid chair

but it was really a bad model and i needed to give it back

at least they confirmed that something was wrong with it, so i felt better knowing that I don't suck THAT much at it...

Yea.. the girlfriend just found a chair on Craiglist.. for 40 dollars.. and it is fucking nicer than mine..

I replace 2 to 3 chairs pers year ( out of 4 chairs) but I lean back a lot..

farkedup 01-19-2008 08:38 PM

I never spend over $125 on my chairs... My current one is due for replacement. Its one of those mesh type ones that is normally really expensive but I got it 75% off and used a coupon and its lasted over 2 years butthe bottom part has stretched to the point where my ass sinks down to the metal if I sit just in the wrong way...

DaddyHalbucks 01-19-2008 08:39 PM

Chairs last me a while. Carpet protectors don't.

I have a Herman Miller Aeron office chair that costs around 1500 Euro, it's the best and most comfortable chair I ever had (no more back pain from 16h at the PC), I now use them at home and the office and I cannot imagine using computer without this chair. The one at my office has about 3 years, it looks like new and these chairs have 14 years of warranty :)

iSMOKE 01-20-2008 12:48 PM

I think mine was $25. Theres a slit in the cushion from it getting so old and worn out and the left arm rest broke off one day when i was pushing myself up to get up. It still gets the job done...

goood find!

pocketkangaroo 01-20-2008 01:11 PM

I think the only problem with the cheaper chairs is they just don't have a long lifespan. I've found some that sit well but for something I'm in 8 hours a day, I wanted to get the best.

save your receipt cause you can write it off next year
