Ahh... man, it's not just in new films. Almost all the US movies that somehow mention Russian have some anti-Russia propaganda (more or less). It was 40 years ago, 20 years ago, and the same will be in future.
The cold war is not over. It's just changed to another phase. It was easy to destroy weak Soviet system because of its stupidity (actually it has destroyed itself). But destroy Russia... Hmmm... Mongols tried that over many centuries ago, Napoleon tried that (he even captured Moscow and... find his end there), Hitler tried that too after getting control on almost all the European countries and... he got Russian army in Berlin erecting a Red Flag over Reichstag.
Russia has almost 1/6 of all the Earth's lands and it happened not because of some god's gift. All these territories conquered by Russians during many many centuries. Course someone somewhere can't accept it (Karl XII, Napoleon, Hitler, Madeleine Albright etc) So the cold war will continue. But on a different level we all used to know it. |
