Coder looking for a better position

Heya,

Recently I found out I am going to be a daddy, and because of this I need to change companies. The current company I work for is not very reliable in terms of paychecks, and since I now have to worry about another person, I need to think ahead a little more.

I bring the following skills to the table:

1. Fluent in PHP/SQL, design and implementation of MVC and other architectural design patterns.
2. Experience building scalable web applications with various caching back ends such as memcache, optimizing code and building clean implementations.
3. Ruby/RubyOnRails including 2.0.2
4. Various technologies related to web development, such as: CSS/XML/JS/Ajax/XMLRPC/SOAP/REST
5. I like to list my experience with SEO/SEM but don't expect me to dish out everything I know, anyone in this arena should know that.
6. Fluent in Unix environments, including various Linux distributions, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD and OSX.
7. Vast background in pentesting and system security practices.

I know a lot more, so feel free to ask. I'm pretty much entertaining all offers within reason, but please don't lowball me. I have a lot of experience and several people on this board would recommend me.

Thanks :)

give me an idea of what your expectations are

If you can relocate, AEBN is always hiring good programmers.

Ever consider working for yourself? I've been doing this for years, there's good months and bad but if you get into the right thing you can actually get fairly stable income sources going.

I'd like to say something about Mr Kris ...

he's been a client of ours in the past and since then, has been a great guy to know and we've known him to be helpful to us. He's a VERY cool guy ... sticks to his word, and really knows his shit!

Bump for a great guy :)

Well, definately full time work. I'd rather not discuss wages online, as it depends on multiple different factors.

mrkris 01-18-2008 11:14 PM

I do a lot of work for myself, but as you have said, there are good months and but. I have a fairly stable income from my current clients, but I like to have a solid job I can rely on, like I said, I have a child to worry soon about :)
