Any Henry Rollins fans around?

He's on a spoken word tour. I just got my tickets in the mail.
Looking forward to seeing him speak again.

wouldnt mind seeing him..back in high school he was cool

now he is a walking commercial

you ever see the clip of him where he comes out on stage in brazil..and is so pumped up he knees himself in the head and gets knocked out in front of like 50,000 people?

Martin 01-18-2008 09:58 AM

Yeah he has his moments.

SykkBoy 01-18-2008 10:06 AM

Yeah
I've seen both his spoken word and his music stuff live

Brother Bilo 01-18-2008 10:27 AM

I'm kind of back and forth with him. It always seems to me like he's trying to fight the buffed up rocker stereotype by trying to super smart and deep. Most of the time is just feels forced and stupid.

Davy 01-18-2008 10:31 AM

It's always fun to see this guy pop up in a movie.
I wished he had some greater success as an actor.

I saw Spoken Word 8 or 9 years ago at the Wiltern and it was great. He was pissed off the whole show and the energy that little guy has is amazing.

I would love to see Rollins Band one of these days.

thricer 01-18-2008 10:42 AM

Very smart person, would love to see him

ServerGenius 01-18-2008 10:44 AM

is energy and brains.....100% cool

thehand 01-18-2008 10:58 AM

Rollins kicks ass!

Azlord 01-18-2008 11:00 AM

Serious question... do you think he's gay? I'm not trying to dog him or anything, but I think he has some serious homo tendencies.

gornyhuy 01-18-2008 11:01 AM

I dig his music more than his spoken word stuff, but I've never been able to get into poetry or read-aloud prose before.

gornyhuy 01-18-2008 11:02 AM

Of course, Family Man is the exception - LOVE that.

I actually have a VHS of a comedy/spoken word show he did years ago. It's priceless. He's been through a lot and I really like the guy. Like the band to ;o)

PaygeaGrl 01-18-2008 11:55 AM

I read his books years ago and really liked them---a bit warped and twisted which is what kept me interested:-)

Rollins is great.

Guy has his moments, for sure.

I see the world through rat's eyes.

Zango 01-18-2008 12:49 PM

Family man... family man... with your life all planned...

I love Rollins. Several years ago when I was writing for a music magazine I interviewed him. I've met a lot of musicians and he was one of the coolest, most down to earth I have met. If you get a chance read is book "get in the van." It is all about his years with Black Flagg and is very interesting.

xxxjay 01-18-2008 02:13 PM

I'm a fan. His spoken word is better than his music these days.

Diligent 01-18-2008 02:54 PM

Great guy, he's always kicked ass

G-Rotica 01-18-2008 03:05 PM

who?????

Vendot 01-18-2008 04:43 PM

Henry Rollins is great but did you ever see him in the movie Heat?

They cut so many of his scenes out, that in the final cut he has just like one line and the rest of the time he's being beat up :1orglaugh
