Is it a big deal if you sign-up as a MEMBER to a major site and then get spammed??

I created a new email address, signed up and then got dumped with spam. The membership was to a major solo site and processed with ccbill. If they post in here that "it wasn't us" and it was I will out them.

The sight in question is huge and the owner/owners friends with many people here. I have yet to read a bad post about them and before I am the first I want to see if anyone even gives a shit.

Oracle Porn 01-17-2008 11:12 AM

not many huge solo girls sites...whats the first letter in the name of the affiliate program?

ProjectNaked 01-17-2008 11:15 AM

It is because of shit like this that 90% of members use fake email addresses.

THIS HURTS THE WHOLE FUCKING INDUSTRY!!

It used to be both informative and profitable to email former members but somewhere along the line some cocksuckers decided to just put the emails on the open market. When you lose all ability to communicate with your members you are sailing an unguided ship. :2 cents:

not playing that game - If they drop their 2 cents here I will post my evidence, if not I will contact them directly and see if I like their answer.

I was always under the impression that they ran a clean program. It is aggrivating to see this kind of behavior from a program that makes more than enough money. (There is no such thing as more than enough but for arguments sake...) It is sad that there are no ethics in one of the largest business industries in the world. People wonder why they get scamed, ripped off, cheated, etc...it's because it is considered ok in adult - as long as you are the one doing the scaming...

Programs e-mailing their members? Say it isn't so!!

NO....PROGRAMS SELLING THEIR MEMBERS' EMAILS TO COCK SUCKING SPAMMERS WHO FLOOD THE ADDRESS WITH USLESS SHIT.

Wizzo 01-17-2008 11:53 AM

Are you sure the list isn't being stolen from the program or the biller? Which happens way more than anyone wants to admit, both billers and major programs who aren't on a constant watch for hackers are being hacked daily...:2 cents:

Umm isn't that how it's always been?

I remember signing up back in the day to check out some sites before I promoted them. It never failed that the email I used would end up being flooded with spam. After about 5-6 months the email addy basically became useless.

Once you stop rebilling they throw as much shit at the wall as possible hoping something sticks or maybe their email DB's just get hacked year in and year out.

Phoenix 01-17-2008 12:10 PM

yackity yack..time to hack back:)

I would rather have a satisfied group of rebilling members than spend 10x the time, money, and effort to constantly find new members. There is nothing funny about that. I find it hard to believe you don't understand this.

I am aware of the recent nats situation....this was within the last week. This program has more than enough income and techs to be protected.

ProjectNaked 01-17-2008 12:33 PM

This would be a good place for programs to clear their name....if there are any. :2 cents:

We dont sell ours, we have never spammed them for anything.

But we have been accused many times :(

ztik 01-17-2008 12:53 PM

Most programs get their email list stolen. I don't think they sell them
I don't know why, I guess they are just retarded and don't understand security, and can't hire someone to do it for them.

I wan't talking about the recent NATS situation, there's much bigger issues that many programs and billing companies are not even aware of... :Oh crap

TheSenator 01-17-2008 03:47 PM

Name names...

I think it is wrong if they spam your email if it is clearly stated.

rowan 01-17-2008 04:35 PM

Sign up for a couple more large ccbill based sites and see what happens.

rowan 01-17-2008 04:39 PM

BTW: had you cancelled at the time you started receiving spam?

ProjectNaked 01-17-2008 04:45 PM
