Do you still use a vcr?

How obsolete are these things becoming? I haven't even thought of a vcr in a while, much less used one.
Do you still use one?

We still have one.... just in case some day we get motivated to copy some old home movies over to digital

Scott McD 01-17-2008 09:00 AM

I got rid of all my videos recently. Seemed like a waste, but fact was i was never gonna watch them again. So no point in them taking up space.

It's amazing how lazy we become aswell. If a tape wasn't rewound, i would just say "bah" and put on a ready to view DVD.

Funny how times change... :)

Jason Berardi, You owe me $500 something dollars. I'm gonna take a few minutes to bump your posts with this everyday until you decide to settle your debt with me. holler.

I still have them hooked up on all my TVs. Last time I used one, I was going to tape some PPV movies off my satellite for my parents to watch, since I get all the PPV channels for free.

I taped about 2 movies and lost interest. Much easier just to buy my parents their own FTA satellite system.

My best porn in on VHS. Unfortunately, my VCR eats tapes when I try to eject them. I really should think about replacing it.

Rochard 01-17-2008 10:33 AM

We still have one but it's in the closet. We pulled it out a few months ago and hooked it up to watch some old family videos but otherwise haven't seen one in a while.

Sosa 01-17-2008 10:44 AM

we have a dvd / vcr combo, but the fucking vcr part won't output anything to the tv lol.

BlackCrayon 01-17-2008 10:46 AM

I still use mine to tape tv shows that i am not around to watch.

jono 01-17-2008 10:50 AM

I have one.
It's gathering dust on it's side!

Chris 01-17-2008 10:52 AM

we have one in my daughters room as her favorite movie is on vhs and i cant find it on dvd and i dont have a vhs -> dvd copier

Tom_PM 01-17-2008 10:53 AM

Yep, still have a couple working ones, and a dead one.
The dead one was a top of the line unit in '93 or so.. around $400. It's pause button pauses for a maximum of 5 minutes, then it assumes you've walked away so it powers itself off. Of course, commercial breaks are now 7 or 8 minutes long, so commercial tv obsoleted it anyway..

Still have one and use it fairly often. I use it to tape 1-2 shows a week. I also use it to play some older movies that my kids like and ones I havent replaced with the dvd versions yet

Horny Alf 01-17-2008 10:54 AM

Max, following me around like this isn't going to win you friends and it isn't doing anything to me. I laid everything out for you via email, and that's the end of it. You can choose to move forward like we discussed, or you can continue to shit in other people's threads when I post. You are not going to get a full refund for gallery submissions that were completed when you took the galleries down and cost me partner accounts at the same time. We have emailed back and forth and you have your options. Spin things how you like, but that is the gist of it.

You have my email address, you've had no problem with it for the past day. I will not discuss this matter on the board.

PS. I just found a box of Microsoft training/programming VHS tapes when I ran up to the attic to drop something off.

SykkBoy 01-17-2008 10:58 AM

I have a combo vcr/dvd player
I collect old, rare movies and a lot of them aren't available on DVD (some are extremely hard to find even on vhs)

One of these days, I'll get around to converting them to digital and burning them to DVD, but just haven't had the time...

OMG Jim 01-17-2008 11:01 AM

Still have one in the bedroom for when it's time to break out the classic Ginger Lynn tapes along with quite a few of Randy West's Up n' Comers series including Jenna's creampie in Voulme #10. :pimp

Brother Bilo 01-17-2008 11:03 AM

I have a box full of tapes, some decent moview too, but I haven't even owned a VCR in probably 6 or 7 years.
