It's true...

At 39 years old, Traci Lords has been cast in the lead role of Kevin Smith's new movie titled, "Zack & Miri Make a Porno".

Seth Rogan is also in on this one, so it should be hilarious if nothing else...

Knowing Smith's irreverent style, I expect some sort of references to Traci's past to pop up. Hopefully she doesn't end up costing him a lot of money, like she did the adult industry back in the day.

She should have got back in porn after turning 18 instead of just making one porno. It's not like she's been a huge mainstream star. Most of her roles have been small bits and she only gets those because of her past reputation. Dirctors are like "Let's that that chick that made pornos when she was 16. That'll get us an audience." Kind of sick thinking if you ask me. What roles is she going to get when she's 50 when she can't act and most people weren't old enough to even have seen any of her pornos? And really who wants to see a 50 year old former porn star act anyways?

I will go see it because I am a Kevin Smith fan but I might mutter under my breath when she comes on.

I think the entire industry should do everything in their power to prevent this movie from happening.

Traci Lords is a fucking whore. She blames everything wrong with her life on the adult industry, yet if you read her book it seems her problems started long before she knew what porn was.

Using fake ID she got from the state of California, she reinvented child porn as we know it. She destroyed many lives and at the end of the day was the only one who didn't get into trouble. We now have 2257 regs because of her.

I don't think people into CP would consider a 16 year old their cup of tea.

Apparently you are correct. The first article I saw indicated that she was going to star in the movie, however I saw elsewhere that she will have a supporting role, as will porn star Katie Morgan (Red Ezra shot this pick for a Katie web site - nice work David):

hehehe. Everytime!!

Clerks is my favorite film and I didn't actually like Clerks 2. Simply because the dialogue wasn't up to par for me in comparison with the first. My theory is that Kevin knew what it was like to be Dante and Randall at the stage in their lives they were at in Clerks but he doesn't (and rightfully so) know what it is like to be at their age and be a waster at the stage they would be at in Clerks 2.

Randall in Clerks is one of my favorite film characters of all time but I wanted to punch him in most of Clerks 2. Him and Dante didn't talk to each other in a way that felt true to the characters *until* they went to jail. That one scene was the most 'Dante and Randall' exchange of the whole film.

I came out of the film for the first time in a Kevin Smith film and thought it was time for him to write about being a grown up..which is where his life is now rather than harping back to the person he isn't any longer.

I am hoping films like this is the right track. I also have a hunch that after Reaper he will be doing a lot more TV which could be good for him long term. I mean, My Name Is Earl was Kevin Smith without Kevin Smith..so do Kevin Smith tv for real.

I've heard that the reason the government dropped it's case against the producers in the Traci Lords case was because the fake ID which Lords had used to dupe the porn industry was a U.S. passport in the name of Traci Lords.
