New Apple Keyboard Sucks

I got my second Mac Pro, just got here this past Monday. It came with the new thin keyboard. I don't like it, feels too much like a laptop keyboard.

I've got the wireless one, which is even thinner. You have to position your hands perfectly, or lots of typo's.

DirtyDanza 01-17-2008 02:12 AM

I love that keyboard I want to get it... Robatolla has it...

iMind 01-17-2008 03:00 AM

I've got the wireless one, and I love it.
I had to force myself to use it at first, but now that I'm used to it, anything else feels like a mission control station for some old kiosk

I type without looking at the keyboard without problem, just took some getting used to.

brandonstills 01-17-2008 03:01 AM

I hate the new one too. I'm gonna stock up on old ones when I find it I think because apple isn't selling the old one anymore I think.

CarolCox 01-17-2008 03:18 AM

I really like the new thin keyboard. I have no problem with it at all.

I'm a big fan of the new thin keyboard. It feels so much like my powerbook keyboard, which I love.

blowme_DL 01-17-2008 04:18 AM

well i think that mac keyboard is hot :)

inthecrack 01-17-2008 05:28 AM

I can't even type any more when I go back to the old clunky thick ones. New keyboard is much better.

lusciousness 01-17-2008 06:51 AM

That mac keyboard is pretty slick! as long as its wireless, any keyboard would do fine on me.

It's Apple what do you expect.

"You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them."

That's only half of the quote. At least get it right.

"You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new."

tranza 01-17-2008 07:21 AM

I almost bought this keyboard yesterday, it looks pimp!!

I did get it right. I didn't change a thing. I didn't post half a sentence. I posted every up to the period. If i stopped after a comma then maybe you might construe that as misquoting.

More great Jobs quotes

"The PC wars are over. Done. Microsoft won a long time ago."
-- Fortune, Feb. 19, 1996"

"It's rare that you see an artist in his 30s or 40s able to really contribute something amazing."
-- At age 29, in Playboy, February 1985

nice that he admits the truth.

I didn't say half a sentence. I said half the quote.
It was half the quote, and thus it was misquoting.

I see you're not questioning the validity of the other 2 quotes.

No point. I can surmise from what you think makes a valid quote that you will always take pieces of quotes here and there to spin things any way you would like.

You did a good job of making Steve Jobs look like an idiot rather than someone who can make products ahead of their time. Good for you.

carol.prime 01-17-2008 08:13 AM

cool keyboard. i'd love to have that one. any keyboard is fine with me, just love the new style. :thumbsup

evildick 01-17-2008 08:25 AM

Looks almost as good as their one button mouse.

:disgust

Romeo GaySearch4Sex 01-17-2008 08:35 AM

I hated it for about a week after I got it, but now I like it.

its easier on your fingers and joints, and it was so easy to get crap, dust, etc.. stuck in the old one.

quantum-x 01-17-2008 08:37 AM

laptop style keyboards rock :)

DateDoc 01-17-2008 09:10 AM

I love the new keyboard. I use the wired one mostly but can kickback, put my feet up and make great use of the wireless one.

Babaganoosh 01-17-2008 09:14 AM

I've been trying to get used to that keyboard too. I'm still not liking it as well as I liked my old one. I gave up on the mighty mouse piece of crap after about a week. I tried to give it a fair chance at least.

JasonB 01-17-2008 09:19 AM

I like it. Takes some getting used to, but I like it.

It's GatorB, it wouldn't be a Mac thread without him in here hating on Apple.

Andiz 01-17-2008 10:12 AM

I actually love the new one. Once you are used to the Macbook keyboard it's not that difficult to switch over to the new wireless one.

TubeTitans_SusieQ 01-17-2008 10:15 AM

hey if you dont want it ill take it off your hands ;)

Jason Berardi, You owe me $500 something dollars. I'm gonna take a few minutes to bump your posts with this everyday until you decide to settle your debt with me. holler.

kektex 01-17-2008 10:32 AM

I love the Mac but I hate the keyboards and the mouse. Itīs like they took a course in anti-ergonomics.

AdPatron 01-17-2008 12:04 PM

The mouse I just throw away and use a logitech mouse.

DirtyDanza 01-17-2008 12:31 PM

what is there to not like about the wireless mighty mouse

mattz 01-17-2008 12:37 PM

all new keyboards take some time to get used to, after awhile I bet you won't even notice a difference

Yeah, I'll get use to it.

jakethedog 01-17-2008 12:51 PM

I have a cool silicone cover over my keyboard on my MACBook Pro.. it took me a little time to get used to a new keyboard but i think it is the same for all keyboards .. and in my opinion the fucker looks sweet ..

Manowar 01-17-2008 12:59 PM

i wonder what the macbook air keyboard will be like, must be worse than that

Buzz 01-17-2008 01:01 PM

I love my regular apple keyboard

I used to have a laptop styled keyboard, but now I'm back to good ol fat buttons.

mcpent 01-17-2008 01:10 PM

Doesn't the wireless version not have a 10 key?

a 10 key?!?!?

mcpent 01-17-2008 01:30 PM

number pad on the right

AdPatron 01-17-2008 01:49 PM

Yes, the wireless version is missing the number pad.

borked 01-17-2008 02:15 PM

hehe - I still can't used to my wireless white keyboard after typing on the the MBP keyboard so much.

I'm forever making typos on it cos I'm too used to just touching the keys with the slightest of presses....

Wanna swap? ;)

Corona 01-17-2008 02:16 PM

It is interesting to see the inroads Apple has made with people on GFY.

A couple of years ago when the was an Apple or Mac thread there would only be three replies if you were lucky.

Once you go Mac you won't go back.
