There was an article on this in Business 2.0 a while back. Basically some guy made a deal with the gov't of Cameroon so that if the .cm domain doesn't exist it goes to a parked domain.

Try typing ANY domain name that ends with .cm. If it isn't taken, it's parked.

So how can we get some CM domains ourselves?

xato 01-17-2008 01:11 AM

In August 2006, it was reported that the .cm registry had set up a wildcard DNS record, so that all unregistered domains in this top-level domain go to a parking page with paid search links. This was likely intended to take advantage of typographical errors by users attempting to reach .com web sites. This has been tracked down to Kevin Ham.
holy shit :pimp
this is huge money.

polish_aristocrat 01-17-2008 06:48 AM

call me jealous, but I don't consider it a fair deal

1 dude basically took control over all .cm domains, without buying a single of them

Ham won't reveal specifics but says Agoga receives "in the ballpark" of 8 million unique visitors per month. Fellow domainers, naturally, are envious.

Yes you can. He doesn´t own them, what happens is that if the domain doesn´t exist it gets forwarded to Agoga.
They are fucking expensive though. Like $500 last time I checked.

Colombia should make their .co ccTLD. I would like to register youtube.co or something hehe

Spicoli 01-17-2008 11:27 AM

kaaaaaaaaaa ching!!!
smart mofo canuck, hey, I'm a canuck 2

RomaCash 01-18-2008 03:08 AM

You can't buy .cm domains, he owns every single one = just add domain in ur short list and soon or after it will expire. Then just pick up it:winkwink:
