is it possible to delete ur affiliate account at a program

or do u just take off all links?

Danny B 01-17-2008 01:53 AM

Sure, but you can't do it yourself. You need to contact the sponsor, and they can disable, or delete your account.

If it's a smart sponsor, they will first ask why you want to delete your account and try to make things work for you again.

If they do not respond yeah just take off all links.

Looking for a new sponsor? Hit me up if you see potential in www.Revenuecash.com. See my siggy please.

shermo 01-17-2008 01:56 AM

Yes you can. Just contact the sponsor :)

Zorgman 01-17-2008 02:14 AM

I tried that with Platinum Bucks. Contact 4 of their guys after they terminated my account (lets see, it was because my trial signups didn't convert to full monthly members, so they acused me of fraud... RIGHT!), anyway. Iv contacted all their monkeys that work there and it seems no one there knows how to remove someone from their spamming Mother Fucking database.

Here is the platinumbucks way.

1. Terminate affiliates
2. Email terminated affiliates program updates because we're spamming mother fuckers and we don't care what you think.

David, get with your program and remove me from your damn email list.

Gordon G 01-17-2008 04:59 AM

just take your links down

Sarah_Jayne 01-17-2008 06:06 AM

Not many ask to have them deleted but if you do want that then usually you just have to contact one of us and ask.

RomaCash 01-17-2008 06:11 AM

If you want to close ur acc, just submit a TT to sponsor's helpdesk or contact them directly.

Satan 01-17-2008 06:18 AM

Contact the program and let them know and they will delete the account for you.

StuartD 01-17-2008 06:18 AM

Deleting your account means having your information removed, as well as your sales.
If the sales aren't removed, they are then untrackable. Meaning that there's no longer a paper trail as to whom the sale money went to.

Long story short is, it's a business. You became a partner in it and as a business, there needs to be a record of every transaction and where the money came from and where it went.

Your account can be deactivated or "closed", but it would be a very bad move for a business to wipe you from memory completely.

If someone sent you 15 sales 2 years ago then do you realy need to keep his personal records for the next 10 years?

Depends. Do you want to freak out when you get audited and they go back 4 or 5 years or do you want to say "sure, we've got all our records right here" ?

RomaCash 01-18-2008 03:09 AM

well, we operate our program for 4 years now.
for all this time nobody asked us to close his acc.

Damian_Maxcash 01-18-2008 03:23 AM

I cant see why anyone would want to be deleted - just take down the links.

If a sponsor keeps sending newsletters and shit just set up a filter to delete them of your server.

As the other guy said it would be ez to cancel an account, but because of audit trails and all that stuff I think it would be bad for a prog to delete all record of you.

Vendot 01-18-2008 03:26 AM

Well its your personal data on their DB so its a legitimate reason to want your personal data and account removed from their system. They should comply.

You can always make some extra bank spamming their link heavily. So this way you get either (a) money or (b) account deletion :1orglaugh

All companies are obliged by law to keep certain data.

Especially when it involves what is basicly a payroll.

That data can be used for a lot of things. Checking growth of the company by comparing how well your program does this month compared to the same month 2 years ago. Seeing trends in ratios based on tours, all sorts of stuff. The more data I have, the more succesful I can be.

But this is a good topic. I think some people are a bit hesitant about having their information inside 100 porn programs (especially with NATS software involved). Many of us would like to have a way of deleting ourselves from the database. Perhaps cancelling an account would delete the personal information (name, address, etc) and fill it in with user28482 or something. Still, most affiliate programs have no incentive to do that.

The one company I wish you could do it with is CCBill. After a few years using them, you tend to have a bunch of sponsors you no longer use or who no longer use CCBill. Just makes it a bit of a pain to see all those programs under your name if you have merged them into one account.

Of course, but the account itself is irrelevant for that purpose. Deleting the account, does not mean deleting those records in most cases. In his situation, he can stop his data being sold on by nipping it in the bud.

what he is saying is that they deleted his account, he cannot send anymore sales, get anymore rebills. YET, he still gets their newsletters, so he is still in their system somewhere...and wants out.
