Text editor for Mac?

I'm looking for a text editor for my new Mac, something without the formating like MS Word and can use it just for editing HTML, PHP, etc.

It doesn't show that it works on the Mac.

= open source, I quite like it. The only thing is that you can't have multiple windows open (or I just haven't figured out how to do that)

BBEdit is the must have text editorhttp://www.barebones.com
Although some folks like TextWrangler I don't http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/

Another one is TextMate http://blog.macromates.com/

Also Coda, personally I don't like it, some swear by it.

Coda is an amazing piece of software. It singlehandedly made switching to a Mac worth it.

Coda is good, or BBedit, but I like Coda much better.

What good ole TextEdit won't cut it :)

Chris 01-15-2008 07:50 PM

i use text wrangler

BBEdit or TextWrangler. BBEdit is essentially mandatory for your Mac toolbox, but TextWrangler will definitely cut it if you've never used BBEdit.

I've been using BBEdit for as long as I can remember.
