Wound up drinking with Mystery from that VH1 show "the Pickup Artist" at the Circle Bar at the Venetian last night. He was hooking up with some talent, didnt get her name. Was pretty funny. That is all.

I recently joined the pick up community and i've learnt a hell of alot. I had heard about it years ago but just thought it was a bunch of geeks using lame chat up lines and tricks to manipulate women.

Before I got into it I did reasonably well with women, i'm a fit, good looking guy with plenty of confidence. But this has taken me to a whole new level. I believe that even the best naturals in the world can learn from these guys.

As for Mystery, he comes across as an arrogant guy who's making up for lost time.

Yes there is a community but I think a lot of those guys spend way too much time on it. Any one that gets good after a while becomes focused on quality women to be a part of their lives and drops the bang em and leave em for the less mature crowd.

This is the kind of thing I thought before I got into it. But it's so not about that, it's about becoming the best you person you can be. The good pick up artists don't use canned material, play games, manipulate women or use tricks.

You learn how to think in the moment, about body language, about what women are attracted to, how to improve your social skills and so much more.
Alot of the stuff will help you in other parts of your life.

The skills are there for you to use them how you want, whether it be just chatting women, picking them up or being in a relationship. From what I know the majority of guys use it to find a decent girlfriend.

The community is quite big, various guys and companies run workshops all over the world. Do a search for something like 'seduction community' or 'pick up artists'

As for me? I'm 22 years old, I like chatting to women when i'm out and dating afew at the same time.

I agree with that, I think alot of these guys spend more time talking about it than they do with women.

I met him in toronto once he's a pretty good guy. I'm not in the "community" per say but I do keep up to date and read the books most of the good PUA's put out. I like to read just how there philosophies work etc.

The coolest thing that came out of my research into the subject was randomly finding out a friend of mine was PUA and an interesting hypnotic trick he taught me. It is not meant to trick you or anything, it is just about removing a persons mental blocks from feeling confident. In essense, you walk them through dissolving past experiences of rejection while they are in a trance state. It only works on people with buried feelings of inadequacy, though I have applied it to help individuals with chronic back pain and the like. Its not that the hypnosis actually works. I saw his tv show and I was mildly impressed. I am sure that the Mystery Method has merit, if you are an outgoing young guy who enjoys spending hours of time hanging out in bars and chatting with women and dating and hanging out a few nights a week socially with friends and meeting people. Besides Mystery's gimmicks, I think that any guy would be smart to get in shape, get a good job or career that you love and make money and feel good about yourself first, and those things alone will give you the kind of confidence that women are naturally attracted to.

At this stage of my life however (39 years old today), I hate bars, drinking and cigarette smoke and I don't really have time to waste or even care to talk to random females who don't know me as the porn director that I am. So I personally would rather just meet girls naturally through work for dating or casual sex and spend my precious free time networking for business at webmaster shows, indulging my hobbies or spending time with my family.

LOL, Mystery, what a joke. Any girl that has any respect for herself and isn't a retard would never date someone like that. The only reason the guy gets laid is because he started out picking up LA chicks and is on TV. LA girls are easy, the methods he teaches (which aren't exactly rocket science, just common sense with some basic psychology thrown in) I would imagine work pretty good on LA girls, but come to London or NY and try that shit on a girl that respects herself and isn't easy and you'll have a tough time. Fair play though, he found a market and capitalized on it and who wouldn't. However, to say he's a cool guy or a legend is just stupid. He dresses like a clown.
