FACT: All revolutionists and people fighting opression have been called "Radicals"

In this day and age the word 'Radical' and 'Terrorist' are thrown around like a wet towel.

Malcom X was considered a Radical

George Washington was considered a radical and terrorist by Britain when he revolutionised America.

Martin Luther King was considered a radical when appealing for black rights.

Nelson mandela was labelled a terrorist and radical in his day

And alot more.

It is no different today with the people in Iraq and Palestine fighting arpatheid and invasion from foreign opressors.

Though I agree with your basic premise, it is different when today's "terrorists" attack civilian targets.

That difference is only compounded, imho, when you consider that it's religious zealousness - and not political/philosophical ideals - that fuel a good number of the "terrorist" attacks.

I still hold to my long-standing point (in agreement with you), however, that the 'War on Terror' is a profoundly stupid way to put it, and should insult the intelligence of every man, woman, and child in America... if not everyone in the West.

We're at war with a noun.

I agree. There are groups like Al Qaeda which are a disgrace to humanity but people tend to get the wrong stick and put all other groups in the same bag as them. For example, Lebanon war 2006 with Israel and Hezbullah. In Lebanon, Israel killed over 1000 civillians, and in Israel Hezbullah killed 26 civillians and yet they are still called the terrorists. There needs to be a distinction.

Though yeah I was mainly reffering to the people who are merely defending their country (Iraq, LEbanon & Palestine),
