REAL ID drivers license wont stop SHIT!! (What a bouncer knows)
 

What I learned working as a bouncer in a bar that was "hell-bent" on keeping out minors:

There is no such thing as an ID that cannot be faked or forged!

The bar trained bouncers on fake ID's and would not give them full bouncer status until they could identify fake IDs. We had books with every current ID and passport from any country that people could travel to the US from.

The bar paid bounus to bouncers based on the number of fake IDs confiscated.
So we were aggressive as hell on IDs because a good night might earn you an extra $100.

90 percent of the fake IDs I caught were caught thru "Bluffing" :

The person looked under age and I basically got them to admit the ID was fake by scrutinizing the ID then telling them to wait on the side and saying
I needed to show their ID to a manager. At that point many of them ran away while I had the ID in my hand. Others stayed and started asking if they were in serious trouble. I'd say, well if you tell me it's fake then you can just leave and I'll keep the ID or you can wait for the cops and I will give the ID to them and they will handle it from there. Then the would say,
ok it's fake and can I go now. :1orglaugh

We studied those "bluffed" IDs and no way could we determine they were faked. Kids were paying up to $1500 for a fake drinking ID.


MY POINT:

It was our technique that stoped the fake ID 90% of the time and not the quality of the ID itself.

The better the ID, the better the fakes!

The more info on a national ID = the more you'll get fucked by a theif when you lose your wallet.
And not even one sinlge more criminal will be caugt then are being caught already.

Some fake ID tricks used :

-Wallet found or stolen, then real ID shopped to a look alike person for $200

- Real ID belongs to a look alike relative

- Bribery at the DMV to get fake ID

- Use of stolen birth certificate and SSN to get drivers license

And many more I never heard of.

I guess it's time laws change, so that people can drink when 18+. Driving at 16, guns legal and drinking only over 21, LOL!

I get my fake IDs straight from Vladimir. $15,000 a pop.

That the national ID requirements on states and drivers licenses is useless and exposes everyone to more fraud than ever.

People will start treating the national drivers license as some unforgable piece of gold and thus allow a theif who stole your wallet to rampage thru your life and steal everthing you own.

The worst words to hear : "Ok, this guy is good. He has national ID".
Those words will be the begining of the biggest personal losses of individuals in history.

Of course if you'd read the news sometimes instead of posting in every thread all day you would already know what my point is about.

Ontario, canada just got new Drivers Licenses They are insane, have your picture in teh bar code aswell as things you think are dots are actually your name in really really small letters, and they hold alot of info on the barcode etc.

Yep, if they held their ground we called the cops and gave the cops the ID.
Smart people didn't push the bluff but some really dumb fucks did.

The cops didn't always get it right though because the fact is that I saw more IDs than the cops and had a better idea of what was fake and not.

If the ID belonged to a look alike or relative then it came back as valid when the cops checked it. I would look for a mole on the face that wasn't in the picture and point that out to the cops to fix that situation. Plus the
height. If they were shorter than the height on the ID it was a slam dunk because motherfuckers don't shrink before 60 years old. :1orglaugh

There is a ton of bullshit in this thread. Any bar that was "Hell bent" on keeping out minors would've purchased an ID scanner, which have been available over 10 years. It is true that certain states were slow to change their ID's to a scannable version, like Florida and Kentucky, but to my knowledge almost all have them now.

Also, any bar worth a shit that actually needs to have bouncers has them there for a reason, and it is not to call the police. Too many calls to law enforcement can have you labeled a public nuisance and endanger your liquor license, so it would have to be a fucking moron that owned the bar that advised bouncers to call the police over a fake ID. But what do I know, I just ran several of them...

What good does an ID scanner do when the ID belongs to the underage guy's brother. The fucking scanner can't scan the guys face and match it to the fucking ID.

The scanner is there to confirm that it is in fact a valid ID, and the old lady at the coat check can match up the face to the ID. That is NOT a skill. But you knew that already, because you pretended to be a bouncer, and they know all...

PS: When we "called" the cops, that meant we went outside and waved one inside sense they posted up there the entire night.

Back in the olden days (mid to late 70's), it was SO easy to get a fake ID. I borrowed a friend's birth certificate and went to the Florida DMV and told them I was her and I'd lost my license. Within 15 minutes I had a gen-u-ine FL license with my picture and her info. Lord knows we were playing with fire - for instance if I had been in an accident and they called HER parents - but I used that thing for 4 years with ZERO problems. They didn't cancel her "lost" license and in fact, it looked exactly the same as mine - just a different picture.

Now you have to show so much more documentation that I'm sure it's harder now. But the illegals are getting fake driver's licenses so maybe it's not THAT hard.

Now, unfortunately, I look old enough ;)

Several years ago, a friend of mine tried to get in a club with us when we had all just turned 21... and the bouncers held his ID, and said the same thing to him... so we didn't press out luck, and just went to another club.

I've sometimes wondered what might have happened had we held our ground. ;-)

What big tourist city would that be, oh bouncer Yoda? Almost every big bar or club has cops that are assigned there at night, but that doesn't mean they are there for your benefit. If they are there it is because there were problems in the past and they need to be there, and it doesn't matter if you call them, wave them down, or send a fucking smoke signal. If there is a problem they have to address they will either have to write a report, or at the very least an FIC that states they had an issue at YOUR address. Too many of those and kiss your liquor license goodbye...

Well thank you for proving my point that you are full of shit. If you think a city bases the tax money they pocket from a business on whether or not they hassle them you truly don't have a clue.

My main background is in running adult bookstores, strip clubs, and mainstream nightclubs. The bookstores I ran were incredibly successful and put a ton of money into the tax coffers of the cities they were located in. Same with the strip clubs and the mainstream clubs I ran. Do you think that prevented me from a multitude of legal problems in all three ventures? A mayor of a city doesn't give shit about the tax money you are bringing in. They only care about getting reelected, and the perception that they are cleaning up a city. If you are perceived to be a problem they will find a way to harass you, and if you honestly believe the shit you just spewed I doubt you were anything more than the club janitor.
