getting paid to fill out surveys online..total scam?
So my girlfriend wants to earn a few extra bucks and comes across these get paid to fill out surveys sites. Are these things total scams or what? Are there any that are legit and don't want you to pay to get started?

Not a scam. I know people that have gotten laptops and more for doing them.

"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
Somewhat recently, after a buy.com purchase, I decided to fill out a survey for $5 off my order - or something like that, and it ended up being a process the likes of which I said "fuck it" to before I had earned the right to claim my $5. And this was something that was sponsored from an established internet vendor - not some momandpop.com operation. maybe it's not a scam - but, if they're anything like that - too time intensive for my tastes. And I'd also expect the hassle of a ton of junkmail following you for years to come. But if she's got time to kill, and doesn't get turned off by junkmail or people caling her trying to sell/get something... maybe it's for her. |

There are so many other ways to make money online, she would be wasting her time with surveys.
And no they aren't scams. Those get paid to do survey sites are really just incentive sites. They get paid by advertisers for each survey that is filled out and they usually they kick back 50% of the money to the user. |

Make her submit galleries for you or something like that, I'm sure it would be better.

Make sure she reads their terms...
Some of them require signing up for various things.. like credit cards, membership type sites, etc.. |
If she don't mind working for 3-5 bucks an hour, then it's not a scam.

They got me too. I got a message for m a "friend" then all of a sudden Im whippin out the credit card for 500.00 gift certificate for Home Depot. Then thes book come in the mail like you clicked yes on tne membership program wich you actually pick no. Then send you a bill. ugggg

I have a friend that does this sort of thing, she never pays them and they always send her goods to sample, fill out forms, shes gotten leather jackets...
Shes into because shes told me about people getting houses and like baddgo said, laptops and the such... She does it on her home time and makes a few extra bucks or goodz... plus she gets to test new soda flavors or juice or whatever is being flavor tested, before the public... all i know is she is happy and dosnt pay anything for it... where, i have no idea... |

The best way to make money with surveys is to join a 3 tier program, throw up a sales page and get other people to do all the leg work for you.

Not a scam, but she won't make much money either.
