just got lab results back, my cloresterol is sky high :O

bah. so eating all that grilled lobster with cheese finally caught up with me! im 162H mg/dL for my LDL and 228H mg/dL for my total cholesterol

turns out i need a radical diet change.. and more excercise. but my sit at laptop 24x7 lifestyle means that i should do a LOT of excercise!

anyway, i just finished eating rice with chopped spinach/cabbage/avocado/almonds with a little teriyaki sauce, actually tasted ok! switching to eating more fish rather than huge chunks of duck/pork/chicken/beef, and on 0% fat milk and cutting out many of the nice foods i like made with coconut/palm oil :(:(:(

oh well. im only 26 too >.<

Oracle Porn 01-12-2008 01:54 AM

im 20, im afraid to test my cholesterol but i already have problems with my liver :( same 24x7 lifestyle as urs too....

and let me guess, you are thin also and not overweight right?

I've noticed that more thin people have high cholesterol than fat asses.

stop going to the doctor. that's when they find things wrong with you. you were happy before going. you have to decide.. long life or happy life.

strobi 01-12-2008 02:57 PM

My cholesterol was at about 300 for some time... that's quite alarming! Just wacth what you eat and do some excercise and you'll be fine in a year!

interesting words! but I would prefer a long and happy life, knowing I have high chloresterol can help me change my diet and enjoy my life longer :D

im lucky that im staying at a nice place with a great gym and pool, so will just go more often. done 2000+ calories of excercise this week so far, not bad, just need to keep it up. eating bran flakes with 0% fat milk every day, but my main problem is trying to cut down on fatty foods, they are just so damn tasty :O

F-U-Jimmy 01-13-2008 12:18 AM

Here's a tip for you, every other day eat a grapefruit in between eat a small bowl of steel cut rolled oats ( you have to cook this stuff for 20 minutes ) add some Agave Nectar to the oats for sweetness. Do this for a month and have you test done again.

I'm 32 and last year i was at 290 ... i was shocked and started the gym and eating better that day. they wanted to put me on meds but i held off and brought it down to around 170 on my own. i was 215lb and I'm about 190 now (I'm 5'9") in the long run i didn't have to change much ...just use common sense .. good luck with it

Catalyst 01-13-2008 12:32 AM

I miss the snow and variety of weather I get from a temperate climate though.
