Are you an ORGAN DONOR?
I've got the form here with my DL renewal and I'm contemplating... I'm not religious, really, but there are a lot of what ifs...
Like: What if it turns out that your soul is in your heart and if that gets transplanted you're stuck in some sort of purgatory until the dude you saved dies? What if it's a ticket straight to hell because god doesn't like people playing him? What if you're not actually DEAD until they take your heart out and sell it on the black market? :disgust |
I had open heart surgery a few years ago, nothing in your heart but blood and cholesterol.
trust me. |
Until you find out there is a heaven and the price of entry is your liver.
|
Yes indeed I am
|
I guess this kinda makes me an organ donor...

I actually just redid my license earlier today and marked yes to being an organ donor.
No reason to keep them when you can save other lives. :2 cents: |
I dont believe in the vacation village in the sky. Im a donor.

Every day i give my organ to someone.... Than I pull my pants up.

Heard somewhere that, if doctors know you are a donor and you are in very critical situation, after accident or something, they might not fight for your life as hard as if you weren't a donor.
I don't believe this is true, but still an interesting idea... |
In Canada, even if you sign the card, the Dr is obligated to ask the next of kins if they can take the organs hence it is more of a wish than any legal meaning. So you don<t need to sign anything... just let your next of kins know about your wish and you won<t face the possibility that they will pull the plug faster on you.

A yes here...If there's nothing afterwards but the prospect of becoming worm fodder...I won't need them. If there's something as amazing as an afterlife...well, I won't need them. Like Shoehorn! said, if they can make someone else's life a little better there's no real reason to hang on to them :2 cents:
|
I heard this too. I am sure it is not true but I decided to leave it up to my family. I have a living will that says it is 100% up to them.

I am, and only have one condition:
The person my organs go to has to be a donor too. I think it should be so by law. |

"Myth. If I agree to donate my organs, my doctor or the emergency room staff won't work as hard to save my life. They'll remove my organs as soon as possible to save somebody else. Reality. When you go to the hospital for treatment, doctors focus on saving your life ? not somebody else's. You'll be seen by a doctor whose specialty most closely matches your particular emergency. The doctor in charge of your care has nothing to do with transplantation." http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/organ-donation/FL00077 I'm an organ donor. A single organ donor can help 200 - 400 people... and if the collective karma, god, or whatever wants my liver as a admission into the beyond, I'm certain he gives a pass to those that gave it away to help another. |

Im an organ donor but from what I here from doctors. If you were in an accident and can be saved, they wont save you if your an organ donor from what these doctors tell me. So next time my licence needs a renewal im changing it back to non organ donor. I want to be saved. That doesn't sit well with me.
|
My motto is, I came with it, I'm leaving with it.

I call "bullshit." That's not the way that it works. |
In AUstria all people automatically are organ donors until they revoke it

Anyone want on the list for my massive cock should I die in a car wreck?
|
Have been a donor since my bike riding days
|
Anyone who isn't is selfish piece of shit...period! :pimp
