just spent ages downloading (as in days) an ENGLISH mission impossible and it turns out to be in GERMAN

you realize with most avi files you can download the english language audio tracks
it how i watched death note in dubbed english when the japanese original was all that was available.

For those that want to argue i am a theif ( i only downloaded it after YTV.ca ran it as an english dubb)

and i pay for the cable to grant me the right to view so when i downloaded it was a fair use timeshifting of the content.

problem in germany is they use voice overs for almost all movies, it makes the movie instantly crappy and unwatchable. Plus i dont know about their movies in theatres but on german tv channels EVERY bit of blood is blatently cut out. I once watched the good old 'day of the dead' at midnight on a german channel, because it didnt have voice overs but normal subtitles. It was still a waste of time because of all the bloody scenes they cut out (which are really the point of the whole movie), the time the movie took was decreased by about a half an hour or so due to all the cutting.... i will never watch movies on german channels anymore. What they do to movies is like cutting pieces out of a painting in a musuem.

Renting costs about $10 here for a night. I just refuse to waste money like that. I do however go to the cinema quite often, don't mind paying a bit for that.
