Is there a way to login to MySpace without being thrashed by spam?

I barely ever use MySpace but every time I do login I am bombarded with friend requests and emails from bands. Is there a setting I can use not to get them? Like I said, I pretty much never use MySpace and I am being reminded why.

if you are over age 25 you should not have myspace ;)

Supposing that you're under the "New Home Skin", click on "Settings" in your control panel then click on "Spam" and you'll able to disallow friend requests from bands, filmmakers and comedians. There are a few other settings for you to choose but I'll let you take a look for yourself. :)

Bands on Myspace are the worst thing on the whole fucking internet.

They are like sigwhores on gfy. They all think theyre gonna be famous by spamming as much profiles as possible. How many bands are discovered on Myspace? 0? How many sigwhores got rich by trolling gfy 24/7? 0?

Thank you very much..I had no idea that was there. It was getting seriously annoying.

You could try the 'hide online status' option. It's somewhere in the settings, I forget where though. I'm not sure if it will help, but a lot of bot searches default to 'last online'.

I tried that but still got them. I think I may not have had that setting on long enough for me to drop off the 'last online' lists.

I rather agree but I have this one friend from college that more or less only communicates through it and doesn't answer normal email any longer.
