Strange Virus on my Laptop
I was downloading some movies off of limewire. I double clicked on one and media player said that the extension and the filetype wasn't the same but it would try and play it if I wanted it to. Well, I said yes and boom! Basically, it has rendered all media players useless. I ran bit defender and it found the virus but couldn't clean it...not even in safe mode. It tells me that the NT kernel has been changed. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium. Thanks!

lol so you were illegally downloading a movie from a p2p site and got a virus...damn what are the odds...

Download a trial of NOD32. If that don't clean it off, then it's format time.

get a mac

shit it messed up your kernel? dam........that was deffo not an avi (obviously).......always check the extensions of the things u r downloading mon, that'll help u avoid headaches....
As dav3 said get a trial of nod32, zonealarm or avg.........if they wont work then ........ format c: |
If there is a virus out there to be had, I'll find it. The last one rendered my DVD/CD drive useless.

Even thepiratebay is safer to download from than Limewire. Just check the comments before you start to download something. :P
