To surf the net on a cellphone, how much does it cost?
And can you only surf in a wifi zone like a coffee shop?

I have a BB in Canada, and it costs a small fortune. In the US , I could have unlimited access for under 100.00/month.... :Oh crap |
Mine is included with my Sprint plan. It's usually $39 a month, but part of the SERO plan that we're on.
|
I too have sprint, but don't have the data plan. I don't use my phone for the internet much. But when I do, I have to pay $0.02/k.
|
The data plan is a fixed cost of around on the iPhone has me surfing on that fucker for hours whenever I'm bored and stuck somewhere. $59 is the lowest rate plan. I fucking love it!

it's pretty reasonable $30-$40 a month for unlimited use... and you can use it anywhere, don't have to be in a cafe or anything..
|
iPhone =) All the plans include it for free.

In the USA, they have some unlimited plans. In Canada, it is a killer ( http://www.telusmobility.com/qc/busi..._100_pda.shtml ) . And if you are roaming in the US, then you better rob a bank ... |
costs me nothig... i got the SERO plan from sprint.
|
If you live in the USA you get cheaper cellular plans but pay much more in taxes.
|
Your Canadian, so your stuck pretty much with Rogers / Bell / Telus. Just look at the data plans, the unlimited plans are only about 25 - 50 megs, so be careful to read the fine print.

make sure when youre abroad to switch it off: you dont wanna know what US or Canadian carriers charge to use gprs or faster abroad
looked up an email in germany once, 10 miles across the border, costed me 30 us$ |
there is a difference between wifi and cellular
you can get wifi at hotspots like starbucks or many other places, but you have to be within range of them (usually in the store or directly out front) cellular you can go anywhere the cell service is, basically, and that is what cell phones, blackberries, and aircards work on |
Here in Brazil you can surf unlimited for $40 a month.

And from what I can tell, it's faster than the low end DSL available here, but not as speedy as the RoadRunner cable service. |
