Yes, some of you blow your nose on that small amount of money, but it could be a good small amount of seed money for me to start something worthwhile.

Can you buy a server with $3k?

Yeah...I'm kind of burned out on making galleries, it's like it never ends. You do them every day to build up to a good level and income but if you stop for a few days it starts crashing down and you're almost back to square 1 again.

I vote "Other". If you want to make a difference, instead of playing middleman, I say buy a camera and try producing content. It is much more satisfying to *make* something, than to serve up what other people make.

What do you do? Just put an ad in the paper looking for models, rent a really good camera and then sell what you took pics/videos of?

I wouldn't think $3k would be enough to start a photography business but maybe...you could buy a halfway decent digital camera, rent some studio time, and hire a couple of models at the local going rate (ask around).

Right about now I would pick "Other" and place my money in an equity mutual fund. With the markets as low as they are, I would place a bet that over the long term, you are bound to do very well.
