All the news outlets have call it for Clinton except CNN.com

Check out their breaking news...

"The Associated Press says Sen. Hillary Clinton will win New Hampshire primary; CNN considers race too close to call for now"

Okay, I thought you were old enough to have experienced an election before. Guess not.

Not EVERY news outlet has called it. Sometimes, they even call it wrong when they do.

FWIW: The stats I have been following just called it for Hillary as well. But that does not change things, not every news outlet calls it at the same time.

Should seem kind of fimiliar to her hubby's first run. History is gonna repeat itself no matter who you vote for.

My comment is that you actually believe that they stop counting just because the news outlets called a win for Hillary.

Please see the photo above.

They called it for Hillary because statistically speaking, with 67% of the votes in they don't think Obama is going to overcome a 5k deficit. They still count the votes.

baddog 01-08-2008 08:58 PM

Make that 75% and more than a 6k deficit:

Hillary Clinton 82,255 36%
Barack Obama 75,675 36%

DaddyHalbucks 01-08-2008 10:02 PM

Sheesh, that is depressing news.

:(

When they make predictions or projections like that, it's based on the exit polling + what precincts still have to report, and what the historical tendencies of those precincts are.

Ever since the networks fucked up Florida in 2000 they're pretty careful about declaring someone a winner.

What's really weird about this isn't that Hillary won, it's that ALL of the polls showed Obama with a big lead, including the internal polls of all the other campaigns.
The Clinton campaign spent the whole day lowering expectations.

Really weird how ALL of the pollsters got this one wrong.

Maybe it created some lethargy among the Obama supporters. You know, "we're gonna win this for sure so why bother voting".

Or maybe Clinton's emotional outburst brought out the female vote hardcore last-minute. Clinton was killing the female vote in NH last I looked last night.

The news channels are saying that single females came out in force for clinton ( I imagine gays as well)

its like obama vs cher:2 cents:

They are saying that her crying sealed the deal for women

Females voters.
Iowa. Obama 35%. Clinton 30%. Edwards 23%. etc etc
New Hampshire. Clinton 46% Obama 34% Edwards 15% etc etc

I think two factors are at play here

single vs married women

and her crying on national tv

when she broke down and did her little victim skit... she united women all over the world lol...

that plus the fact that a fair amount of single women are really pretty angry.... and find themselvs crying as a direct result of some guys action ..often

so yeah as long as she can cry the night before each primary in every state... obama can hang it up

....( forgot to mention, funny how she has now taken his change slogan and made it her own LMAO)

assroot 01-09-2008 04:41 AM

I don't really like Hillary, but I do think Bill was a good president and I suppose they're a package deal. Vote for one president, get the second one free!

Imagine she will have the best advisor next to her: Bill Clinton! :thumbsup
How he longs to live again at the White House, this time without the worries of the presidency :winkwink:

Her crying is exactly why i wouldn't want her as president.
