couldn't agree more

LilBro 01-08-2008 12:19 PM

yes but unfortunately a lot of people will not take that into effect and it makes for more $$$ to have Marino go down... wil happen to Brady eventually...

Oh yeah, the clothesline....brutal. Forgot about those.

Remember when you could drive a defender backwards and the ball was marked where he went down? There was no forward progress bullshit.

Look at some Steelers defense videos from back in the day

The only thing I got from that is this guy is a Dolphin fan ( probably building frustration from the past couple of years) and he is intelligent enough to stay anonymous...Who would admit being a Dolphin fan?

Brady = 3 rings and counting...Marino = 0 and not counting...Rules change, life goes on, Marino was great Brady at this moment is great after this season he could retire and be the best Quarterback of all time...

Just my opinion and I hate the Patriots

I remember when just getting off the line of scrimmage was was tough and there was no 5 yard contact penality.

?I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.? Jack Tatum

Because he was in Ace Ventura!

The games has changed. Athletes are stronger and faster. Offensive and Defensive play books are longer and more complex. I judge quarterbacks or any other player by one thing; Super Bowl Rings! Marino never had one and Brady beat his TD record and is about to get what 4 rings now? There is no doubt that Marino was the best in his era, just like Brady is in this era, and 10 years from now we will have another that is even better. But the schedule is longer, the teams are bigger and tougher, and the competition these days is different. :2 cents:

Sorry saw that after I posted! I couldn't agree with you more:thumbsup

Obviously you'll think I'm only saying this because I like Marino...but how can you judge a QB on super bowl rings?

There are 22 guys on the field.....33 if you count special teams.....53 if you count the whole roster.
Granted the QB is the single most important player on the field, but winning a super bowl takes alot more than just an elite QB.
Based on this logic, Trent Dilfer is a better QB than Dan Marino....give me a break.

Is Johan Santana not the most dominant pitcher of his era because he hasn't won a world series with the Twins?
Steroids aside, is Barry Bonds not the most dominant hitter ever, and he's never won a world series either.

they are from different eras - always hard to compare athletes from different eras - rule changes, the way the game is played changes - i'd have to see a COMPLETE statistical analysis of them to see who statistically was/is better - adjusted for the eras they played in.

BUT that is still a statistical comparison - there is more than just the numbers. I do know many people who think John Elway is the greatest football player ever. Mel Kiper of ESPN for one.
