I am about 30 minutes away from the only AFB STILL OPEN in the Sacramento area so I was curious as to how close I was if it was hit..

If I hear about an incoming I am just going to set up a lounge chair in the backyard and grab 2 beers (won't need more than that) and enjoy the fireworks for about .001 of a second.

I live about 7 miles downwind from Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Facility (no pics... apparently that's a no-no). It's supposedly shut down now, meaning they aren't producing anything, but the sheer amount of plutonium stored there is scary. Well, except for the 25,000 pounds they seem to have "misplaced". This place is so contaminated, a vast majority of it has been covered over with a 3-foot thick concrete slab so the wind doesn't blow the glowing dirt all over the place.

Probably the thing that disturbs me most is the idiot that is leasing the land a 1/2 mile from the electrified chain-link fence on the downwind side and grazing a herd of cattle on it. I guess the terms "radiation" and "carcinogen" mean diddly to Mr. Rancherman :eek7
