today I learned about a new way to spam
Our support ticket system gets a fair share of spam, most are filtered some stay. I saw a whole lotta links to a site that sounded weird: toplop
After some googling I learned bout the way they deal and I gotta say smart. Toplop is a fake russian mailorder bride agency, they even have an affiliate program. You signup as surfer (or opt out it doesnt matter) and hell begins. No girls contact you but a steady 15-20 spam mails are sent. Ive seen replies of ppl who said they got over 500 a day after a few weeks. A whole site, profiles aff program everythings is fake. All they do is send huge amounts of spam to get sales on viagra n stuff. Smart. And I bet plenty ppl signup. |
Something to learn from maybe?
Double opt in+pretend to be girl+2-3 duration a week+Viagra pills and other stuff people cant live without Should solve the "Help the biz is dying" threads. :2 cents: |
damn annoying emails... that's for sure!

still you wouldnt expect they set up a whole site with 100s of profiles n all that looks so damn real to send out spam, even a fake aff program |
quite brilliant actually
the same thing could be done with mortgage sites, loan sites, etc... |
How's that brilliant? They'd make more trying to upsell the people to the site they actually signed up for. Sounds like a bunch of shitty russians happy with peanuts for pay.

Cost per click (advertising costs) for bride services is way way lower than cost per click for something like mortgage, loans or even Viagra. :pimp |
