Question for you Video Gurus out there!
 

Hello,

A friend of mine is looking to start a vblog, he wants to record video and post it to his blog. I already have a great wordpress plugin that works awesome using .flv videos.

What I now need is this, can someone please recommend a decent camera that he can record his videos on and transfer them to his computer with little hastle. Then I think he'll need some good software to convert his recorded video to .flv....what is the best out there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi SAC,

Use a video camcorder that records right to a built-in hard disk. They give great quality, and you can copy it to your hard disk 100 times faster than the real-time you're forced to use with Mini DV. Sony, JVC etc all make them.

Once you have them to your hard disk, you can convert the file to any format you want with a program like Videozilla, or edit it with a simple program like Windows Movie Maker.

I love my Sony Hard Drive camera, just make sure the format is supported by your editing program. If you get a cam with AVCHD format.. not sure if Windows Media Player supports it yet.
