Hi Everyone,
A while back we started a new section to our site for content providers and webmasters. It is an attempt to make shopping for content easier and faster for webmasters. I would really like some feedback as to anything else we could do to make it a better service for webmasters.

Do you have to pay to be listed?

maybe you should tell more about prices and quality. something like a rating system would be cool i think.

Looks nice. A bit laggy though.

The service consists of the following.

We host 10 sample images, we keep the sizes to no larger than 300 x 400. We of course disable downloading options.
We give them on the showroom page a paragraph to describe their company and products.
They also get a button and a banner.
We do charge $50 a month to be listed but that barely covers the costs of the service. We also update the images with new ones provided by the providers once during the month as a part of the listing.

Wildcard: A rating was something considered but we found this,,,,
Rating the content would not really be fair because content that may not be up to par to you could be exactly what another webmaster is looking for. We could rate the content but again it is all in the eyes of the beholder. We could attempt rate their service?

The service is to only make shopping easier.
The whole idea came from a webmaster that posted it to our boards. His complaints were about having to go so many places to find fresh content or what he was looking for and wanted something to view a lot of content in one place. This way he could compare one provider to another or maybe find that one model he wanted to build a site around.

Thanks to all that have looked so far. We just want to make it a good service for everyone.

I guess what I'd like to hear then is feedback from people using the service... Providers paying the $50 and webmasters who have found content through you. That should be a good indicator of what does and does not work.

So, anyone with experience want to chime in?

I lurk here every once in a while but decided to give a reply to this thread. :D

Kicks is one of the most honest and hardworking people that I know in this biz. I was MORE than happy to help him support his Content Showcase because I believe that it IS a good idea. As many of you know, there are a ton of providers out there, and trying to keep track of who's doing what, who's offering what, how many of what they have and how often they update can be quite a time consumer for webmasters.

I've been on his board for months, and am VERY happy with what I've gotten from it. And to be totally honest, where else can you find such advertising for $50.00 a month?? (I know that many boards charge $500.00 for a branding package--which is maybe a button and a mention in a newsletter??)

Kicks is one of the good guys and I support his Content Showcase entirely! :D

It is good to see one of the listed people giving feedback, just as I asked. ;) I guess the only other question that springs right to mind is "how's the ROI?"

So poor providers like me can afford it? ;)

We do not charge a lot for the service for several reasons. I will give you the main one.


The service although paid for by content providers is really for Webmasters. In order to make it a truly great service we want as many content providers as possible to be listed.

It barely covers costs because we do the pages, we host the content, we do the updates and we do the promotion......bandwidth and time

The main reason it is not costing a lot more and the main reason it will not be costing a lot more in the future is......
I am not greedy.
If anything I would like to find more ways to make it a better service for all and that is why I posted in the first place.
