Car just got broken into....

Yep ... and if I see the little fuckers who did it, I'm gonna take my car key, and jam it right into their little stinking eye sockets.

Cunts.

buzzy 01-06-2008 06:02 AM

Unlucky. What car was it?

Ross 01-06-2008 06:04 AM

Did they damage it a lot or just a broken window?

mrwilson 01-06-2008 06:05 AM

That sucks mate, what did they take? the stereo, speakers? its what they normally take!

chav bastards

Would'nt bother with the police just ask the locals, you will find one who likes to grass people up then go and deal with it yourself.

My programmer had his 8 mo. old BMW 735 nabbed on New Years Eve. He just recently had switched insurances, with a new policy starting on Jan. 01/08, He now has some explaining to do, telling the new insurance that his car got stolen two hours after the contract started.

Move to Florida, down here you can pull the AK47 out if someone fiddles with you vehicle, and let it rip.

Xrated J 01-06-2008 08:05 AM

damn, that suck :(

Sosa 01-06-2008 10:14 AM

that's too bad

Twisted Dave 01-06-2008 12:11 PM

Yeah, they got the Stereo. It's not even an expensive one. Funny thing is ... I had a $1000 speaker cabinet for my guitar in the back of the car the whole time ... they left that! lol ...

It's too big I suppose.

Oh well.

Theiving assholes.

Car is just a 2002 Vauxhall Astra SXi ... nothing fancy. But our car!

geeknik 01-06-2008 12:12 PM

it's only a car. not like that shit can't be replaced/fixed/etc.

Violetta 01-06-2008 12:33 PM

Easy to say when it happens the first time. But when you fix it up and then a few months or a year later get hit again it starts to become annoying as shit. It's especially so when you have to pay a two or three hundred deductible over the theft of a handful of change you had in your console.

In my case last year there was an attempt on my new car, only had it a month when some idiot jammed a screwdriver into the passenger side doorhandle and did over $700 to it just by trying to pry it open (and failing). The idiot was obviously too blind or stupid to notice the anti-theft devices I have on the vehicle including a full 3-stage electronic immobilizer.

I can totally identify with what Twisted Illustration is saying about how he'd love to catch the fucker just once in the act. :warning

That's a stupid fucking statement.

The point is, it's HIS car, why should he have to spend his hard earned money to fix something that some thieving asshole damaged and stole shit from?

He shouldn't have to replace/fix/etc. it.

I have zero tolerance for people that victimize others. :disgust

Where in the UK are you ?

Some advise from a former Washington DC resident. Leave your doors unlocked. Yes, you will find your glove box open and your owners manuel on the floor. What you won't find is broken glass everywhere or vandalism because of your alarm.

I learned this trick when I owned a convertible, nothing stolen was ever worth more than the knifed top.

Good idea, but if someone decides to steal the whole car, you may get in trouble with your insurance....

What in God's Good Name ... lol. Dude ... my shit was broken, and some kid just cost me a $150 excess fee to fix the window, plus the stereo was stolen. Plus, it poured down with rain during the night, and my car is soaked inside. Not nice. Why don't you let me have access to your bank account .... ? It's only money ... you can replace it .... :)

Absolutely. Theft is awful. Everyone here says about content theft sucking, and it's true ... and it's the same thing. Stealing is stealing. Except in this case I'm heavily inconvenienced as well as financially out of pocket. We don't earn a lot and we only bought the car 3 months ago. It's sickening. This isn't the kind of thing we'd like at the moment! Well, at any moment!

We're in Petersfield in Hampshire. Surprised me, because we live in a lovely quiet area and this kind of thing isn't expected. The worst part is that recently I've had to park on the main road because our car park is getting full before we even get a chance to use it. I don't know where the cars have all come from but they've pushed us out of being able to use it. We don't have any allocated places for our flats.

Been thinking about doing this myself. Wondering if anyone else here does it???

Spunky 01-06-2008 07:10 PM

That sucks man. It's almost worthwhile just to leave the car unlocked and have no stereo in a car these days

OY 01-06-2008 07:23 PM

That sucks. Sorry to hear that.

I recently had my fairly new car smashed into by someone (hit and run) and ALL the panels on left side were scratched and dented. Idiot did not leave a note or anything.

Money is not the problem, it is the TIME fixing the shit that sucks.

Money AND time are the problem!!! lol. Spending money when you didn't need to is not on. Especially for some little thief to profit.

My last car had the same thing ... someone smashed into the side of it and never told me ... I just came out one day and it was dented and scratched.

Dagwolf 01-06-2008 07:27 PM

Violence won't solve anything.

Just kidding, go ahead :thumbsup

That may work in some instances for some people living in certain areas, but here if the intruder were to damage my vehicle anyway, my having left it unlocked would negate my insurance claim.

If your car is stolen, forgetabout it. I doubt any insurance company anywhere would honor a claim where the vehicle was left unlocked. Of course you can say "how would they know?"..... it doesn't matter. *I* would know.

One of these years I'm going to splurge and buy myself one of those new condos and park my car underground in a building with in-house security measures in place.

trix 01-06-2008 09:32 PM

I drive a vintage convertible and after TWICE of having the top cut for break ins, I started leaving it unlocked. I find my glovebox open every now and then so I save about $1000 for a new top every time. And I use a cheap removable faceplate stereo. In an old car, the sound sucks no matter how bad or good your sound system is (in my car, anyway).

Bojangles 01-06-2008 09:34 PM

That sucks.

CD, After the first incident I wasn't turning any claims into my insurance company for fear of getting canceled. Keep in mind this shit was happening within about a mile radius of the White-house, numerous embassies, etc ..... smash and grabs by roving gangs of punks.

Understood. You are obviously one of those I was referring to that falls into the category of living where it would be a good way to deal with the problem.

Spunky 01-06-2008 10:10 PM

Crack heads will break into 50 cars a night to get their next fix

Spunky 01-06-2008 10:11 PM

Bring back those alarms that blow flames at anybody that comes 2 feet within your car..that will help solve the problem

shermo 01-06-2008 11:04 PM
