No pollution and using a compressor to fill it, I would think it uses a little less energy than 5 gallons of gas to go 125 miles. Fuck you are a fool.

Not to mention the air it releases is cold by nature since it was compressed so alas it comes with free standard AC.

Mexico and India have both placed super large orders and factory requests.

The gas hybrid also looks very sweet. I have been on the waiting list for awhile now.

Techie Media 01-04-2008 02:37 PM

The benefits of this are unlimited.:2 cents::pimp

only if the electricity that power the compressor comes from a renewable source such as solar / wind / tidal / etc. But even then.. Steel used to build windmills consumes resources.. etc etc.....

No such thing as a free lunch, as they say... everything has a carbon footprint of some kind.

Wow! Amazing stuff! I can't wait to see it get a bit more testing and press.

Yes, but the idea is to reduce that footprint as much as possible, and I'd say that car does a very effective job.

Just because you can't solve all the worlds problems, doesn't mean you shouldn't try and solve some of them.

They do not really need any more testing, its just money now.
Everything is ready to go. Hell if you can afford a dealership you get a manufacture company as well (wish I could afford that as I would be all over if).

They could use a bit in the looks department. Aside from that though everything is pretty damn sweet, even the center placed steering wheel to accomidate both right and left hand driving countries.

don't forget it's made by TATA, the guys that are buying jaguar and land rover, and half of the board was slamming last week because it's Indian.

Am I wrong in thinking it would be a bit dangerous to be driving around with a big compressed air tank in your car? Or is it basically safe in a crash?

Crash safe, the take is made of a special composite. If it gets hit or punctured it will shatter and just release all the air at once and not in some crazy stream that propells shit like mad.

well they did somethign similar on MYTHBUSTERS during their JAWS MYTHS episode:

the myth was from the film that a scuba tank will blow up if you shoot it.

They shot at it and shot at it - the most it did was fly around the container they had it in.

Compresses air doesnt explode - if it punctured you'd just get rocketed - actually that may be fucking FUN!!!!!!!!! :pimp

totally safe, the dangerous part is filling it.
If somehow the bomb fails and put too much pressure on the tank, it will not explode, but propel like a rocket, not just fucking up everything that is close to it, you will find the tank miles away.
In Brazil they use natural gas, that is pretty much the same procedure.
There has been some accidents. But it's safe, while filling it up they ask you to walk out of the vehicle :)

it wasn't "air" in the movie. it was "oxygen"

that would be fairly redundant to make an episode trying to prove it won't explode considering that oxygen isn't flammable by itself. they must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas.

:2 cents:

I imagine its safer than sitting on 25 gals or gas ?

F-U-Jimmy 01-04-2008 08:03 PM

This reminds me of a time when i had my own studio built in Sudbury Suffolk ( UK ).
We has some very expensive 3D parabolic cameras and the insurance company insisted we had a Haylon fire system in place. The guys delivering the tanks ( which where 6 feet high and 18 inches in diameter ) dropped one.
After this huge bang the sound was like a jet engine the cylinder travelled through 6 x 10 inch cinderblock walls out into an open field and came to rest about 500 yards away from the building when we found it it was covered with ice and making a very strange noise. Anyone in front of that would have been dead or cut in half !!!!
