Britney Spears, legally insane?
 

It is not humanly possible to write a soap opera as dramatic as the life Britney Spears actually lives.

Tonight at Spears' home, while allegedly on some sort of drugs, Britney refused to hand over her children to Kevin's bodyguard at the court appointed time. The standoff lasted over four hours, and police, as well as Kevin himself came to confront the popstar.

Tmz is reporting that an ambulance actually took Britney from her home in a gurney, and that after over a year of totally insane behavior, medical professionals will finally have their say in the matter.

We're told Britney is being taken to a local hospital on a "medical hold" -- essentially a mental evaluation. Cops found her earlier this evening at her home under the influence of an "unknown substance."

Let's take a look back at Britney Spears' toxic behavior in 2007...... failed rehab attempts, random tattoos, that infamous shaved head incident, umbrella battles with the paparazzi, crotch shots, an uninspired VMA performance, that OK magazine breakdown, her daily habit of driving around Hollywood at night to be photographed, a constant change in companions, her feud with the rest of the Spears clan, an alleged affair with one of the paparazzi who follows her every move, and last but not least allegations of bad parenting including whitening her children's teeth and feeding them pop out of their bottles.....

Looks like Jamie Lynn won't be the only Spears on magazine covers next week. Perhaps its jealousy that drove the fame-obsessed celebrity to pull this stunt in the first place????

I can't think of a better place for Britney Spears to be than the psychiatric ward at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Pop star Britney Spears was taken to hospital for tests to see if she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and for a psychological evaluation after police were called to her home Thursday night to mediate a custody dispute, a police spokesman said.

Spears appeared to be conscious as she was rolled out of her Studio City home on a gurney about three hours after police and ambulances arrived there.

The children were returned to their father, Kevin Federline, who has primary legal custody of the two sons, a police spokesman said.

Doctors at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles will decide whether to invoke a California law that allows a patient to be held for psychological evaluation for 72 hours, the police spokesman said.

Aerial video provided by local television station helicopters showed Spears on a stretcher and surrounded by police and paramedics as it was rolled to an ambulance near her home.

Spears has been in a heated battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

Federline, Spears' former backup dancer, holds primary custody of the children. Spears has been in trouble with the court earlier concerning her compliance with court orders in the custody case.
